Summary on GOODREADS:

Love. Sex. Magic.

Before her 20th birthday, Gabriella was pretty much clueless about all three. In love with her best guy friend since the age of 14 and too crass and intimidating for most of the male population of Colorado Springs, love and good sex were virtually a myth.

And then there’s magic. Freakin’ magic. There’s no way that legend could have a place in her less than exciting life. So why after twenty years of utter obscurity do her adopted parents hit her with the ton of bricks that is her true identity? And how the heck is she supposed to accept all this and become what she was truly created to be?

Lucky for Gabs, sexy as sin Dorian is more than equipped to help her embrace these new revelations. And while everything about him feels oh so good, she soon learns that there’s more behind his crystal blue eyes, chiseled body and exotic beauty. Something dark, menacing and downright unnatural. Yet Gabs is in way too deep to even try to turn away from him now.

Dark Light, Book 1 of the Dark Light Series, is the raw, emotional story of a young woman’s journey of self-discovery in a world that was not meant for her. And her scorching hot, lip-biting addiction for the man she can’t deny, no matter the cost.

*Contains strong adult content.

***My Review***

"Oh, what a difference a year makes.
A year ago, I was the embodiment of a reckless nineteen year old girl, hell-bent on drinking my way through community college until I couldn't function and not giving a damn how it made me look. A year ago, I was madly in love with my best friend, Jared, but couldn't find the courage to tell him. A year ago, the only family I knew of was Chris and Donna, my adopted parents since the day I was born. A year ago, I was content with mediocrity and my love life was non-existent exactly what I thought it should be. A year ago, I was human. At least I thought I was."

The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful cover, then the intriguing title and after I read the summary I knew that this will be the next book I was going to read. I usually avoid love triangles, but it was high time to step out of my routine and try smth new, but fortunately for me this time the supposed love triangle wasn't so melodramatic as it usually turns out to be, because the minute one of these guys comes into the picture, it was quite obvious that the other doesn't stand a chance and I was more than o.k. with that.
To tell you the truth this book didn't blow my mind like it promised it would, but on some strange level I did quite enjoy it. Sounds weird, I know. My first disappointment was when I realized that the book wasn't going to be so dark as the summary describes it. Books with darker themes became lately kind of my guilty pleasure and I read quite a lot of them and sorry- this book has some dark content, but still not enough to label it as a dark read.

It's a mixture of new adult, erotica & paranormal romance. Yes, it contains some S&M scenes, but those were very light (spanking, choking etc.) from the ones I read and that's why in my dictionary I would never define this book as dark erotica. The main character of the story is a 20 year old girl Gabriella. At the begging she seems like your ordinary, small town girl spending her time with friends & partying her way through life. While all her friends have their future all planned out, Gabriella is still in the dark about who she wants to be or who she is to begin with. All her life she feels mediocre, like she can't find herself in anything she does, especially when it comes to love. She had a few boyfriends, but nothing serious. She was never in love with them. The only boy she was in love with her whole life is her best friend Jared, but she was never brave enough to tell him how she felt.

“I never was one of those girls that wanted to be a princess or aballerina. A while ago, I really wanted to enlist in the Marine Corps. Then ultimately, try to join the CIA. But it was just a crazy dream.” I chuckle nervously, shaking my head at my absurdity. “It’s just…I never wanted to be some dainty damsel in distress. I never wanted to be rescued. I've never been that girl. I wanted to be the one kickin’ ass and taking names. I wanted to be the hero, you know.”

Be careful what you wish for is the most suitable to the describe the events ahead, because everything changes on her 20th birthday, when she learns the real truth about herself and where she comes from and that she is far from ordinary. The lies on which her whole life was built start to slowly crumbling down, especially after the arrival of the tall, dark, & handsome Dorian with the stress on dark.

"What he is…enthralls me. Captivates me. Utterly disarms and beguiles me. And if I hadn’t felt his soft, warm lips on mine, had never tasted the delectable sweetness of his tongue or his tingling, moan-inducing caress, I probably wouldn’t be here, ready to strip away my clothes and inhibitions. I would have wised up and gone back home with Morgan. I probably would have even drunk dialed Jared and professed my undying love for him. But it’s too late; I have felt all those things. I know what it feels like to be under Dorian’s spell."

I have mixed feelings about Gabriella, probably because she was full of contradictions through the whole book. At times she was really fun and seemed like a strong and brave young woman, but on others she  behaved very immature and naive. She was in denial trough the whole book- in denial about herself, especially about Dorian in spite of all the evidences she had in front of herself and her irrational behavior really started to annoy me in the second half of the book, because once again she wanted to build her life on lies, but this time was worse, because she did it willingly. It made her weak in my eyes and I don't like weak characters, especially if they are the main characters of the book .

"I could ask him. I could ask what he was. I could ask if he knows who and what I am. I could ask him why someone is out to kill me. And he would answer every one of my questions. But then what? This would all end. Dorian would no longer be mine. Though he’s far from being mine now. Shit. How did we even get to this?"

"We sit facing each other, suds enrapturing us in white froth. So many unspoken words between us, yet neither of us can articulate what is on our minds. The questions are rhetorical; we know the answers in our hearts. But this dream, where we are just an ordinary couple in an ordinary world is so much better than our reality. We’re not ready to wake up. Though we know this dream will eventually manifest into a nightmare."

The minute I read the description of Dorian Skotos I knew immediately whom the author had in mind and later after seeing the Facebook profile of these series it was affirmed that it was this guy--->

Yes, Dorian Skotos is the "replica" of Damon Salvatore Ian Somerhalder. Do I think that Ian Somerhalder is hot? - YES!!! But do I want his face in every damn book I read? - NO!!! It's truly getting a bit boring for me, because lately his "clones" show up in almost every book I read.

I know Ian, but even eternal studs need a break. In your case make it a year or two :P.
But back to the book- so the mysterious, hot & rich Dorian shows up and with just one look at each other sparks starts to fly, there's immediate chemistry, an undeniable pull between them and just like that everything in her life, including Jared is put in the second plan. Dorian brings up a totally new side in Gabriella, she never thought she had it in her, especially in the bedroom and the bedroom scenes were, well- SCORCHING HOT and while the writing style does need a bit improvement, these scenes were definitely the best written parts of the book and earned this book one star more.

"All I know is that my body is craving him. I need release and no one can deliver that better than Dorian. He knows what he’s doing. This was no accident. I told him I couldn’t see him and he somehow awakened a beast within me, making it so I can’t not stay away. I can’t let him win. If I give in this time, he’ll know he can manipulate me whenever he wants. But would that be the worst thing in the world? Being manipulated by Dorian when the payoff is so damn good? I can live with beingused for sex by him, can’t I? No. This is what he wants. He wants me to crave him. He wants to constantly be on my mind so I give into my carnal desires. This is all part of his game; unraveling me to the point where I need him to stay sane."
“I don’t believe in luck.” Dorian turns his body towards me, revealing his chiseled chest. “But you believe in magic?” I ask with an arch of my eyebrow. I know I am in dangerous territory but it’s just playful banter. Dorian smirks and his eyes suddenly darken. “Don’t you?” We stare at each other, both with a question on our lips. What is he trying to tell me? That he knows my secret? He couldn’t. No sane human being would believe that even if they read Natalia’s journal for themselves. I don’t know if even I can entirely believe it. “I know there’s magic in you. I've felt it. Right here,” Dorian murmurs, reaching down to stir my swollen, damp sex. And with that, there’s no more talking, just moaning, gasping and heavy breathing.

Yeah, what Ian said ;).
Both Dorian and Gabriella have secrets which prevent them from taking their relationship to the next level. They are both confused by their intense attraction and feelings and afraid to open up, but still they are in too deep to let go. At the beginning they both try to deny their feelings and to keep their relationship casual as possible, but it soon becomes obvious that there's more between them than just the never ending lust and the only solution for them is to finally stop running and give a chance to each other.

“Look, I’m not good with this.” I know what he means- feelings, relationships…love.
“Neither am I,” I say quietly. It’s the truth. My longest relationship was two months and it only lasted that long because I was too lazy to break it off.
“I don’t know what you expect of me. I don’t want to sell you this dream then you realize it’s really a nightmare. That I’m a nightmare.” He exhales loudly and looks at me for a reaction. I give him nothing, my face stoic and unreadable. “You’ve made me… happy. I didn’t expect you to, but you did.”

“No one has ever moved me like you, Gabriella. I’ve never been so affected.”
“I could say the same about you,” I whisper.
“That’s why I want you around at all times. I like the way you make me feel. I need it.” His words are desperate yet I understand that type of desperation. I feel it too- the magnetic pull to him. It’s so much more than sexual attraction. It is what sustains us.

The paranormal part of the book was interesting, but it wasn't anything that I haven't already read before. It lacked originality and I wish the author had focused and developed a little bit more that part of the story. The author has potential, but considering that this book is labeled as dark paranormal erotica I wish it was actually more dark, that the characters were more mature and that there was less teen drama. I think that this book will appeal more to the readers who are new to this genre. I read a lot of great book in this genre and that's why I can't give it more than 3 stars, but the book did keep my interest enough to give it one more chance and read the next one called The Dark Prince (The Dark Light Series #2) coming out March 15th 2013. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

"Piece by piece we pick up the shards, trying to recover just a fragment of who we once were. But what is broken can never be as it was; it will never be the same. So we create a new portrait of ourselves and let our secrets become the glue that holds us together. Because if we admit the depths of our depravity, we can never turn back. We won’t be able to pretend anymore. He will know me, and I will know him. And that’s just a risk neither of us are willing to take."

Beautifully Damaged by L.A. Fiore

romantic-suspense/new adult/erotica

Book description:

Ember Walsh was always the quiet one, enjoying a book and a glass of wine over the noise and crowds of a club, but when her best friend asks her to come out and meet the boy she likes Ember's world is turned upside down. He appears like a mythical avenging angel, inked, gorgeous and completely out of her league but one look and Ember no longer wants the quiet, she wants him.

Trace Montgomery has buried his damaged past with women and fighting until one day he meets an angel and suddenly he wants more, he wants her. For her, he's determined to overcome his demons but will the dark secret that links their pasts bring them closer or will it tear them apart.

My review:

This is Anastasia Steele, Kiera Allen, Ember Walsh. Just the ordinary athletic girl next door. She is wallflower: shy, naive, too trusting. Another pretty stupid virgin in her twenties. This damsel in distress is a Man Magnet: she has such an incredible personality that all the guys want to be with her within 2 seconds of meeting her.  The heroine is apparently so gorgeous , but she is the only one who doesn´t get it.  She works as a waitress (sounds familiar?) at a plush, elite, five star restaurant, but her dream is becoming a writer.  And then she meets a bad boy, Trace Montgomery and falls....hard.

Of course they fall in love.  Then he starts pushing her away.  Then ends up hurting both of them to finally realizes he needs her. They live happily ever after. The end.

And, BTW, girl solves a mysery murder in the meantime. And... she broke her BFF´s nose.
She is continually blushing, and she says "Oh my", or "I love you so much" all the time. It made me sick! Everyone around her luv each other and at the end they become one happy family.  And, ladies and gentlemen, your attention please , THIS BITCH SLEEPS IN HIGH-HEELS!

Now meet Travis Maddox, Christian Gray, Trace Montgomery. He is tall, hot, tattooed, loaded and every woman wants him, but he is The Beautifully Damaged  Trace  is one damaged soul full of self loathing and hatred. He hates himself to such a degree that he's given up on lifes happiness. To cope with his damaged life and try to bury past abusive memories,  he fights for money all the time and always wins.  In the meantime he  screws any woman available. He's attracted to Ember but feels completely undeserving of her.
Long and short of it is, Trace is self destructive. He falls in love with Ember despite his best intentions to avoid it, but he feels not worthy of her so he deliberately hurts her emotionally to make her run. Of course boy doesn´t wanna be saved, but can't resist girl so he pushes girl away by humiliating her, but this super-girl is willing to endure humiliation and be an emotional punching bag for boy to "save" him.

Did I mention that I hate him too?! This bad boy literally says, "I need to be inside you.", and than he lives with her for two fucking weeks without touching! After that, he filles her with 'one long, hard stroke' on every third page and with minimal foreplay (even when she loses her virginity, and of course she has an orgasm) . In second part of book this tough, bad boy becomes a cry-baby.

In my opinion, this is 50 shades meets Beautiful Disaster meets Thoughtless.

Just look at these facts:

  • owns a yacht
  • gives Ember first edition book
  • has tatoos all over his body
  • has nightmares of abuse
  • has her picture on the wall
  • is loaded
  •  is a fighter
  • "I´m not good for you Ember, but I can´t seem to stay away from you, either."
  • "I prefer brunettes with big, brown eyes."

  • everyone loves  her
  • she is waitress
  • she never had a boyfriend
  • she is a virgin

Sorry to the other readers who gave this a 5 stars but I just didn't see it.I found the story long and boring. I did not feel the emotional connection with the characters and I thought all characters were very one-dimensional. It felt stiff and predictable.

This was such a waste of time for me. Romance was exceptionally corny and cheesy right until the very end. The plot was so messy and ridiculous it was torture to read.  Grammar and spelling were horrible.

You might enjoy this book if you're into the romance genre and you don´t have anything against  plagiarism, but I´m too old for this shit.I gave it 2 stars instead if 1 because it could have been worse.

Until next time,
stay naughty...

Here Be Sexist Vampires (Deep In Your Veins #1) by Suzanne Wright

Buy the book:

GoodReadsWeb siteBlog

"Sam Parker is a vampire with a gift so strong and substantial that she is invited to partake in a test for a place in the Grand High Master Vampire’s private army. She finds that not only has the army never included a woman, but it has never included a Sventé vampire; a breed that is regarded by the super strong Pagori breed and the hypnotically beautiful Keja breed to be too tame and human-like. Most refuse to take her seriously, especially a Pagori commander named Jared who she craves in spite of herself. The Grand High Master, however, sees her potential and offers her the position of Jared’s co-commander to help train the newest squad in time for the impending attack on his home. Sam has to demonstrate to Jared and the squad of chauvinists why it is incredibly foolish to underestimate a wilful, temperamental, borderline-homicidal Sventé female.

Warning: This novel contains an iron-willed female vampire with an energy whip, a sexist male vampire who is determined to have her, explicit vampy sex, and a romance story with real bite."

 My review:

"Again she lashed the whip and again it caught me; this time on my ear. Even in spite of the pain, I couldn’t help noticing how sexy she looked right now with her eyes smouldering and that whip threading through her fingers."
Ladies and gentleman, meet Samantha Parker.

Oh yes, you're seeing it right. Our dear Sam has a whip. And a might one too. She's a vampire - a Sventé Vampire.
"...there are actually different breeds. Sventés like me don’t have hypnotic beauty like Kejas or have super-super-super strength and speed like Pagori vampires, though we are stronger and faster than any human. But our bloodlust isn’t overpowering which means that we can walk amongst humans without becoming overwhelmed and tempted to cling to someone’s artery."

Every vampire receives a gift after he/she's been Turned. And Samantha has a very special and rare one, never seen in a Sventé - she's a Feeder. Able to manipulate energy, she can do a lot of awesome things, one of those, as picture suggests - create a whip, but that's just a small part. And because of her gift and her control over it, she was invited to take part in a tournament for a place in Grand High Master Vampire’s private army. The thing is - she's the only woman and the only Sventé EVER to try it.

A little about Sam: She's a kickass heroine, tough chick who doesn't back down or takes shit from everyone. She's confident, strong-willed and has a great mouth that made me laugh a lot. She makes men fall on their ass with her skill but she's also the greatest teacher - she takes her work seriously and her techinques are so smart she earned even my respect not just from the guys. Her bastard of a Sire who Turned her used her in the most awful ways which made her a strong woman who takes care of herself but never allowed her bad luck to make her a hateful weak woman. She really is a very fun and entertaining person. In one word: she's awesome!

"Throughout the entire session, I watched her. I couldn’t take my eyes off her; she conducted herself so confidently and had such control over her gift that I was in total awe of her. She basically commanded the entire arena and everything in it just with her presence. Not once did she become unsure of herself. Not once did she lose control of the situation."

Then we meet Commander Jared Michaels.

“It’s...different...with you,” he finally said.
“Different how?”
“It just is. I don’t just want you, I need you. Crave you so bad that no one else even appeals to me.”

Jared is a Pagori, a Commander and the biggest sexist ever. He wouldn't give her a place in the legion because she's a woman but mostly because she kicked his ass in the tournament.

I looked down at a coughing Jared and arched a brow. "Now who’s the pretty girl?"

But then, Sam was placed as his co-worker to train with a group of 10 vampires to prepare them for the danger that's soon coming to the Hollow - the secret island of vampires. And the fighting/foreplay begins...

There are so many bad things about Jared, first that he's sexist, then he's prejudiced against Sventés, he sees woman as objects - even has three consorts (translation: whores who service him), and he acts like a spoiled brat sometimes his fu*king pride wouldn't let him take the girl sooner before another one almost took the spot.. But the thing with Jared is that he doesn't hide his desire for Sam, he acts on it - seducing her and she resists him. He's also very possessive and is attracted to Sam because of her attitude. Well, he may be another one of those - 'I like you because you don't like me' but he's still a great guy.

And oh man, when that man gets his charm and playful attitude out, he makes me purrrrr! And when he lets out an electric current(yes, I'm serious, he's electrokinetic) through her clit, oh God! The sexy things he says make me scream:

"Shall I tell you what’s going to happen now?” He moved his mouth to my ear. “First I’m going to play with these gorgeous tits here, suck on these pretty little nipples. Then I’m going to fuck you with my fingers and my tongue until you come in my mouth. Only then will I slide my cock inside you. It’s not going to be slow and gentle, Sam. I’m going to fuck you hard and fast until you come so hard you scream. And do you know what you’ll scream? My name."

See what I'm saying?

Those two played a lot around each other for most of the book, their chemistry setting me on fire. They didn't have sex until 70 % of the book but the wait was worth it. One of the best vamp sex scenes ever!

"But at this point I’d had enough of fighting myself on this, enough of running away. All I wanted now was to feel that fire again. To have his hands on me again."
I loved how Sam didn't give in to it right away, but she played with him - trapping his arms and legs then escaping him... Oh, I'll stop now before I spoil it anymore! But thing I loved most is the Sventé bite. You're just have to read the book to find out what I'm talking about

Other characters I really liked were Evan - who made Jared(his brother) insanely jealous because of his close friendship with Sam and Fletcher, Sam's assistant and a very cute British gay vampire I just adored.

This is an action-packed, laugh-out-loud, cool-vampire-not-just-another-romance-story, with a perfectly-paced-plot, great-characters, a-mountain-of-sexual-tension story and I am just obsessed with this book!

NOTE: The sequel, The Bite That Binds is coming out January 31. It's a continuation of Sam and Jared's story, but note that the first book doesn't have a cliffie. Also, the first published book has some mistakes but it was proofed and edited and re-released on January 13, so be careful if you stumble across the not-edited HBSV book.

Reaper's Property by Joanna Wylde

Buy the book:

Book summary:

"Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.
But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.
Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.
Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.

He's hung like one! (Yep, we are talking about Horse!)

Let me be honest with you - I would probably never look at this book twice if it weren't for all the status updates and reviews on Goodreads. So, dear Joanna, you should send some love to Blacky, Vishous, Rain , Shelly and Pam.

First thing that intrigued me was the name. There's one thing you have to know -  if you call someone "horse" (konj) on my native language, you better be ready for fight because it's like telling someone he's a dumb fuck or something similar. And there were all the gifs of that horse from Tangled. (Now that I've read book, that kind of disturbs me.) Being good little girl, *winks*, I left everything aside and decided that it should be only appropriate to meet this big biker dude.

So I picked up my good, old buddy, you know, that gray thingy called Kindle. First impression after five pages: "Oh, the white trash - excuse for being a big failure." I had some Sookie flashbacks. But then... the bikes. The boys. Pour Some Sugar On Me too, please!
"But something about the way this biker swaggered, taking up space and the very air around him with his presence, caught me off guard and knocked me right in the…
       Well, you know."
I think I know! Bossy bastard - but you can't help yourself. Oh, I know, honey...

What surprised me the most is that this book is actually really well written. So far I didn't have big, shiny moments reading Ellora's Cave novels. Okay, it still is typical when it comes to all steamy scenes, descriptions of his.... hoseness and all the nipples poking through shirts. But I enjoyed every minute of it. Joanna Wylde knows her words. Storyline is interesting and it will keep you on the edge until the very end.

One thing that really made me want to kick something was all that stuff about sweet butts. Seriously? I understand that it would be the ultimate male fantasy (right after fucking virgin who acts like she is not one), but girl who gets off on something like that - what the hell is wrong with you? Again, I have to admit that I could even understand that (just slightly) - the decadence, freedom to act as you wish - but I do not like being humiliated for doing what I want.

Reaper's Property is just first book in Reapers MC series - I can't wait to read other guy's stories.

Until next time, sleep tight and let the kinky guys bite!

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren

Release date: February 12th, 2013.
Pre-orderSimon & Schuster / Amazon

Book summary

"Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard. Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office. As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other."

My final judgement:

It's a good thing that I was relaxing in my bed while reading Beautiful Bastard or I would have bruises all over because of  fainting every time this mad man called Bennett ripped her panties. Yes, you read correctly - he's a panties ripper. As much as I got all hot and bothered reading those parts, it still was kind of ridiculous. I mean seriously - why did he do that every single time?

I didn't even know that this book was originally fan fiction until I started to read it. Thanks to Edelweiss and S&S I got ARC and it seems that it went trough some major revisions and editing. That's probably why I didn't have some of the issues with this book as other readers who read original story. I am glad because as much as I support inde authors, I believe that they should not publish their work before reading and reareading, polishing and cutting and editing everything for hundredth time if necessary.

Beautiful Bastard has a cliché storyline - hot, dominating boss and new assistant. Lot of arguing and glaring. And lot of sex. In the office. In the elevator. In the hotel. You know, usual stuff.  I am little bit ashamed to admit that I loved every single minute of it. It's fun read - a typical modern faerie tale.
Sometimes I felt this Sex and the City vibes - Chloe calling Bennett Beautiful Bastard (Mr. Big anyone?).

If you read Trust in Advertising by Victoria Michaels, you know what to expect. Although, Trust in Advertising is one long book with lot of unnecessary details and repetitions. I liked Bennett and I wanted to kick Vincent all over his stupid face. Chloe isn't girl with daddy issues and she knows what she wants. Lexy has bad case of Bella syndrome.

So if you are still interested in reading this book, I advise you to visit Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews - they are having pre-order giveaway.

Until next time,

"Her hands are pressing into the flesh of his back, and underneath him her body is flexing, moving, seeking, and the room is filling with her little groans. John's mouth is on her throat, now, lips and tongue and teeth teasing the flesh just under her jaw, down by her collarbones. And then he's on to her other ear and the silken neck below it. For a moment she seems to pull herself up against him, and two long, high notes hum through bitten lips. He holds her close, pressing and holding himself still against her while she shudders and pants, then finally calms, her fierce grip on his back going lax, her body softening and sinking beneath him.
“Go ahead,” she tells him.
He starts to move.
“No,” she says. “I want to see you.”
He lifts himself so his face hovers a few inches above her, and gives her a strange little smile. He starts moving again. Still slowly, but with a different angle, a different rhythm. Almost on the first stroke her body tenses and her eyes go a little wide, startled.
“You okay?” he whispers, and she nods her head. “It doesn't hurt?”
She shakes her head, then says, her voice soft, almost kind, “Just intense. Don't worry about me. Just do it the way you like it. I want to see, feel what that is.”
His fingers in her hair, his other hand slips down, under her waist, and holding her to him he begins to move, back and thighs and ass flexing. She watches his face as his body gets taut, quivery, and his breathing goes shallow and irregular.
“Are you always quiet like this?” she whispers.
“Let me hear you,” she coaxes.
He goes still. Breaks eye contact. Breathing heavy.
“You being quiet doesn't change anything. You're still fucking me, getting off. So let me hear you.”
His eyes come back to hers and there's a still, quiet moment between them. And then be starts, his body working against hers. He tips his forehead until it touches hers, and his serrated panting fills, breath by breath, with a low, feral growl."

Erotic Romance

Summary on GOODREADS:

When Adeline Parker decides to celebrate landing a coveted internship at one of Chicago’s most prestigious architectural firms by indulging in a brutally dark and handsome man, she gets more than she bargained for.

Lost in a maze of hallways on the first day of her new position, she stumbles headlong into a boardroom of suits. Very expensive suits. They are the somebodies of this prestigious firm, and she is, by all accounts, the very definition of a nobody. And sitting at the table with the rest of the principals from the firm is a man—the very man who unwittingly deflowered her only days before.

From the look of it, Jordan Ellinwood is none too happy to see her again; by his own admission, he’s a one-night-stand man, and the fact she conned him into taking her virginity isn’t sitting well with him either. But as her path is inextricably attached to his, their closeness will no longer be a choice.

As an intern, she’s off-limits, and that says nothing of the fact he’s twelve years older than she is. But when coworkers bent on jealousy and resentment threaten her reputation and internship, the long-dormant emotions Jordan has so effectively stifled fight to break free. And as he struggles to get out of his own way long enough to let her see his compassion, her career is jeopardized and leaves him fighting with every last ounce of himself to save her.

Will it be enough? Can he overcome his emotional shortcomings in time to rescue her future and his own—now so very attached to hers?

***My Review***
There's a 22 year old virgin in a big rush to lose her V-card!!!:D

"My virginity, if you’re wondering, is not something I have a particular attachment to.
I never have. I didn’t set out to avoid relationships, but my introversion certainly didn’t attract them. I’ve wanted to be done with it for a while now, but where every other man I came across simply failed to catch my attention, this one for some reason did not. Was it his looks? Perhaps his smell, or more than likely his maturity. There’s something so very arousing about a calm, controlled, confident man—qualities most often found in an older man."

Yes, one of those again...
I picked this up after I read a couple of highly emotional books with some heavy issues in a row and this time I wanted an easy & fun read for a change. I'm weak when it comes to book covers, so there's no doubt that the hot cover of the book is what first made me check it out, even though the summary on GR didn't quite impress me in spite of the high ratings, well except of the mention of a hot, older guy and how could you resist a book which starts like this:

“Do you want to fuck me?”

Yup, this is the first sentence of this book. I was thinking to myself- o.k., just a few more pages and if it turns out to be "pure erotica" a.k.a book-porn, I'm skipping it for sure. I'm not new to this genre, but if the story and the writing style isn't good, I usually get bored before you say chapter three. The writing style was good, but the beginning was kind of shaky when it comes to the plot. I mean, a young student Adeline meets this hot, older guy Jordan in a bar and the next minute he has his hand in her panties, even though they don't even know each other's names. Jordan is hot, rich, 12 years older which screams experience and what's more important for her- he doesn't seem the relationship-type-of-guy and the girl decides that he is the perfect material to lose her V-card.  (P.S. Is there anyone else who thinks that the word DEFLOWER is hilarious and not hot at all? Omg, every time I see that word I can't stop laughing. If I were an erotica writer I would never use that word. Fortunately, as far as I remember, it only comes up in the summary.)

"Shouldn’t I be able to have a little fun? But the truth of the matter is this isn’t me! I don’t have fun; I don’t fuck around with strangers in narrow corridors of swanky downtown bars. This isn’t me … but still, I won’t stop him. I want to be exactly the type of girl who fucks about with a man like him."

I do not care what this man does to my body; I just want it to be him. I have no excuse for my want. I have no cause for my sudden uncontrollable urge to give myself to this stranger. I have no purpose but my long overdue need for this. I’ve set this part of my life aside for so very long. I’ve denied and refused to pay it any attention, and now it yearns, begs to get out.

Adeline is 22 years old, she never had a boyfriend and "doesn't" want one even now, because she wants to focus on her carrier, so this guy seems perfect. I liked her at first- she seemed confident and to know exactly what she wants out of her life, but as the story continued she turned out to be just the opposite- naive and very insecure. I didn't like how she let easily other  people to intimidate her, how she cried every time things got tough and let other people fight her fights. I don't like weak & immature characters-period.
Jordan as a character was definitely better and more interesting than her, especially his past which was anything, but perfect and  his life story was definitely what kept me interested and made me read the whole book.  He had your typical 'commitment issues', but at least he had a good reason for the way he behaved and I really liked the way he stood up for Adeline when she didn't know it herself. The scenes between them were hot and well-written, but they got a bit repetitive after the first half of the book.  Another good thing about this book is that there is really no bigger drama. The bad thing is that it is a bit cheesy and I'm not your 'hopeless romantic' type of girl, but I think that the author has potential. I would recommend it to people who like sweet, & romantic stories  mixed with a bit of kink ;).

"I’m frozen in my fear of showing myself. Using my body to show her how she makes me feel is easy, but now that is gone, and I’m left wanting to confess what is in my soul, but so far outside of my emotional comfort zone I can barely breathe. Will I watch her slip away too afraid to let her see me?"

"I know him, and yet, I don’t. I feel close to him, but I can’t say I understand why. He doesn’t do “next times,” yet he keeps coming back for more."

" She deserves to know how I feel about her, and there are times when we’re alone together I’m nearly overcome with the need to confess. I hear the
words being spoken, and they sit on the tip of my tongue, ready to tumble out of my mouth, but I don’t utter a word. My hands clench as I will my mouth to move, and I open and close my mouth like a half-dead fish struggling to breath out of water. But the words just won’t come out."

"Should I stay without his love, it would destroy me in the end. I know this, so I give myself to him every day, accepting what I get in return but praying for more of him, all of him. But he’s a flightless bird. He has the power to soar but he’s been cut off at the knees by pariahs who destroyed his soul and took his ability to feel in the same way I do. But however hopeless his past makes it feel, I wait."

"It’s odd how you can be happy in your life, only to look back later and realize just how much was missing. When you are poor, you learn to be

content with what little you have. I’ve never had love, so I learned to be content without it. She held the mirror and forced me to take a good look at myself. She forced me to see what was missing, and it was her."

Hope You'll Enjoy The Book & Until Next Time
