Book summary:

"Liza Sutherland isn’t looking for love. Not from a charity-auction date she didn’t even bid on and especially not with Nationals first baseman Cole Collins, the guy she obsessed over as an awkward teenager. She won’t get involved with a notorious player, no matter how attractive Cole is.

Cole Collins is up for contract renegotiation, but after too many late-night parties, he’ll need some positive publicity before he can make the roster. His agent, Frank, pitches Liza as the perfect prop…only Cole didn’t account for Liza no longer being just a teenager with a crush. She’s gorgeous and smart and he’s instantly hooked.

When Frank makes Liza a deal she can’t refuse—a bet she will fall in love with Cole or a cool half mil goes to charity—the game is on. But neither bet on the real feelings that surface. Could a fake fling turn into an official forever?

The Practice Proposal by Tracy March is perfect novel for all of you who like good romance involving good girl and womanizing sports player. Bad boy will see everything wrong in his previous relationships and good girl will find her inner bad girl. A little bit predictable, but that is not a bad thing when it comes to this type of novels - that is exactly why we read them and what we want.

If you are fan of Jaci Burton and her Play by Play series like me, you will love The Practice Proposal. Only difference is the cover - Burton's novels have those "let me lick your body - everywhere" covers. The Practice Proposal is tamer comparing to them, but story is even better, so please, hurry and pick up your copy of this novel - you can find Amazon and Barnes & Noble links in this post.

The storyline. Really, really good. There are no loose ends, maybe I would like that some things were written differently in the end, but Tracy March is woman who knows how to get you interested. Being woman herself, I believe that she knows what is one of the biggest fantasies every one of us has and she used it. Do you remember that boy you not-so-secretly liked when you were teenager? And he acted like your friend or he didn't notice you at all because you were this awkward creature with braces, pimples or no feminine curves at all? Wouldn't you just love to meet him today and let him see what did he miss? Make him beg for your attention? Yep, that fantasy!

Characters. Those of you who know me are familiar with my lack of patience for goodie two shoes/virgins/naive female characters. No, she is not virgin (thank you God), but Liza is good girl who obviously isn't aware of her appearance and how it affects opposed sex. Why did I like her? Because she is smart and independent. Cole is your typical sports player with everything that goes with that - parties and one night stands, but he is not jerk and (again, thank you God) he thinks about consequences of his actions. Don't let me start about all the reasons this man will make you swoon like sixteen year old One Direction groupie.

What are you waiting for? Read this book as soon as possible and tell us what you think. In the end, I would like to say just one more thing.
Dear Tracy,  thank you for this super sweet story and I wish you lot of good books and 5-stars ratings.

Review + GIVEAWAY: Locked (The Alpha Group, #1) by Maya Cross

 Buy the book:

"The bar Sophia Pearce is in doesn’t look like much. The wine is bad and the decor worse. But when a sudden attack of curiosity leads her to sneak past security and into the back room, she discovers something unimaginable. The most lavish party she’s ever laid eyes on, in the most unlikely of places.

But that’s nothing compared to what comes next, to the man she meets back there. Sebastian Lock. Gorgeous, commanding, and radiating charm, he is exactly the sort of silver-tongued rake Sophia has sworn to avoid. Unfortunately, he doesn’t care much for her promises.

Every instinct tells her to run, but the chemistry between them is as inescapable as gravity. Soon, he’s opening her eyes to a whole new world of pleasures, pleasures she never thought she’d enjoy.

There’s just one problem. Sebastian is more than he seems. Between the famous company he keeps and the almost paranoid secrecy of his employers, he’s a puzzle Sophia can’t quite solve, and his insistence on keeping things casual forces her to confront the demons of her past.

Can she learn to trust again? Or will Sebastian’s privacy tear them apart?
Contains light BDSM, including spanking, restraint, and anal play "

A copy of this book was provided my the author in exchange for an honest review.

First and foremost I have to say - Was there ever a more perfect adult romance cover?? So pristine, elegant and beautiful. Not to mention the pose - intense and wicked. Love the models! The colors and everything adding up making it the sexiest cover ever! Just makes you want to look at it so enchanting and fascinating. As soon as I saw it I wanted to read this.

So the book begins with Sophia Pearce with her best friends in a random bar. It would be a classical night of getting drunk if she it hadn't begun to take an interesting course. Led by her overpowering curiosity and the mystery of the back room with security she sneaks in there to find something unexpected - an extravagant party with (clearly) rich men and their escorts.
Already at this point I knew this will turn out to be an amazing book. Who doesn't love some inrigue right at the beginning? And then comes Sebastian..

"At first glance he seemed confident and charming, the sort of guy I saw every day around the office. But behind that roguish charisma lay something dangerously alluring; a potent strength that seemed to beckon to my very core. It was intimidating, arousing, and more than a little distracting."

Interesting is a small word to describe their conversation. I kept imagining them with a small smile of amusement and a little arch of a brow, picking at one another, playing a game, trying to get a taste of the personality and exploring what would be the outcome of this. They are both very intelligent and smooth in talk with a touch of sarcasm on Sophia's part and that made it highly enjoyable. You don't see this kind of easy flow so often.

And the whole book went with a kind of easy plot-flow. There wasn't any jumping around, the events made sense but they were not predictable. Especially what happened after... Well, lets just say that no one was expecting to find Sebastian spanking his secretary later in the office, let alone Sophia, but that was just the beginning. Beginning of Sebastian awakening the curious and sexual woman in Sophia that wasn't so vanilla as she thought.

I liked Sophia, she's a lawyer struggling with many let downs in work, but she's the kind of woman that got a lot of experience out of life and wasn't a fool anymore. She's strong and assessing of everything and not full of resentment because it's a hard life. I got the impression that she takes it all in stride but never being the weak person that gives up or is scared of a anything, especially one intimidating man. What I like more about her is, well lets call it - the detective side of her. She likes to explore the mystery and investigate whatever makes her curious. I actually enjoyed the times when she was at work and didn't find the lawyer stuff boring as I expected. And don't forget her sarcasm and funny lines. Always great in a character.

"At some point, it occurred to me that I'd left my shoes behind. Just like Cinderella, I thought. Although I'm not sure if the story traditionally contains quite so much masochism."

Furthermore, I love that she didn't submit to Sebastian's request for a casual fuck with her as one of his many women. She explained she doesn't do that, she needs an exclusive relationship. And she confronts him when he's wrong or she doesn't agree with him, never being mushy-wushy because the hot guy is actually interested in her.

"I was still wary. I'd been fooled before by men like him. For some of them, the challenge was even more fun than the victory itself. This could all just be part of the game."

She doesn't even accept a date until much later after thinking it through. And that's amazing, what I love best about her! She's careful! And not demanding, only seeking as much trust and time as she can get for a normal relationship.

Sebastian is a very persuasive character and Sophia is someone worth persuading. The intelligent, intimidating, HOT (of course) man was sort of a little enigma. He didn't reveal much about himself making him a very mysterious and puzzling man which in turn I liked. What I liked even more, as Sophia did too, was that in spite of it all he was very honest! He said right away that he doesn't do exclusive relationships and why and why he was so interested in Sophia.
And Sebastian Lock(or Keys in other times. I like the obvious play with the last name) was a Dom. And he saw that Sophia was possibly submissive and we all know that Doms like to bring out the hidden submissiveness in women.

And oh maaaaaan, wasn't that hot or what?

"With the last of my resistance bleeding away, everything began to take on a new dimension. The ropes that I'd struggled so hard against became excitng in their strength. My blindness, once terrifying, now amplified every sensation. I was no longer afraid to discover what wicked secrets Sebastian had planned; I was excited."

But the ending brings trouble. Can Sophia really trust Sebastian? When she finally gets burned, what will happen now?

Now, the problem that I had with this book, or better said a longer novella, is just that. It's more of a novella rather then a book. I didn't know that at the beginning but did know that it was a trilogy. Yes, I'm used to novellas, but it bugs me a little because I always want more!

But the bigger problem is a small, and I point out this SMALL, similarity with Fifty Shades-like books. The rich hero, working-class herroine, him being a Dom and her a new sub and some other things and that just bothers me. This book shouldn't be any similar to Fifty Shades. It's just offensive, for this book because it's so much better than FS. And I dislike when authors sometimes, maybe even unintentionally, do this when most are much more talented. For example, the herroine here is miles away better.

And that's why it's 4.5 stars. But all in all, this series is something to look out for, a new fascinating erotic romance trilogy that will continue making us curious about the next step it will take. I recommend this for everyone looking for a romance story that is both fun and new, not much emotional, but something to keep you at your toes trying to figure out how will this strange relationship work when nothing is clear about the impending future.
Just who is Sebastian Lock?

Interview with Amber Lin

Hi, Glass! Thank you so much for having me on Way Too Hot Books.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Amber Lin, author of Giving It Up, which RT Book Reviews gave 4.5 stars and called “at once, scary and sexy in all the best ways.” I’m here to share my new release, Selling Out, featuring a high class call girl and a by-the-book detective with the Chicago Police Department.

Why did you choose to write books with erotic elements?

I love writing sex. There, I said it.

Sometimes I think if I could write sex all day, it would be the most perfect job. Of course, an erotic author is pretty darn close, but not all the way. To tell the full story, there is plenty of non-sex writing. There’s also publication and marketing and a whole lot of other things. But I live for those moments when the words are flowing and the fictional sex is hot.

When you think about it, what is art? It’s a way to express your emotions, your experiences through some tangential medium. That’s what erotic writing is to me. Of course, it’s also just fun and sexy, but that’s what it means to me. It’s expression of far more than how to people get off in a broom closet, it’s about life and love and hurt and even hate. Sex and love touches on (heh) so many aspects of our lives.

Plus, life is just more sexy with erotic books:)

Who is your favorite author and role model?

There are SO MANY.

But let’s pick one for today. As erotica authors go, Charlotte Stein is comparable. Her writing blows me away, so funny and sexy and sharp. Her characters are fantastic. I first discovered her after reading Control, which I will recommend to anyone and everyone. Since then I’ve read almost everything she puts out. She’s an erotica genius.

She also happens to be on the kindness people you’ll ever meet (on twitter), so that’s a lovely bonus.

If you could pick to be one book character who it would be and why?

I generally like to read books that are dark and edgy, which means I don’t necessarily want to be the character. I just love reading about them:)

But thinking about books that are more realistic… I really love Jack Travis from Lisa Kleypas’s Smooth Talking Stranger. I think he is both an amazing hero in terms of the romance fantasy but also a down to earth, strong alpha male that might exist in the real world. Well okay, maybe not the billionaire family part, but the sexy way he was with her, his confidence… oh yeah.

Oh wait, we weren’t answering the question about hero we’d want to bang?

Right. Yeah. *coughs* I mean, I would want to be Ella from Smooth Talking Stranger. Because she’s confident and fun and she gets to bang Jack Travis.:)

Thanks again for having me on the blog today! Check out the blurb and excerpt below for my latest release, Selling Out.

“Shh,” I murmured, stroking his back.
“Shelly, goddammit.”
But his protests fell away as I pressed my breasts to his arm and my tongue to his ear. His harsh inhalation sounded broken, shattered, or maybe that was me.
I tasted salt and man, earth and spring. Slow licks alongside his lobe and upward, more suggestive than sensation, but for a man like this, anticipation would be everything. Or so I had imagined, all the times I had dreamed of it.
A small sound escaped him, somewhere between a grunt and groan. I took it as encouragement and smoothed my hands along the hard planes of his shoulders, his chest. Not anywhere near the bulge in his jeans, because this wasn’t about pleasure—it was about wanting.
Anything to get closer, I let my knees slide apart around his side, the faint heat of his body a shock to my core. His hands clenched and opened on his knees, and again, the muscles rippled beneath his darkly tanned skin. Was he restraining himself from touching me or pushing me off?
“Baby, no,” he groaned, letting his head fall back onto my shoulder.
No, I would never deserve to have him as more than a sex partner. And he had never fucked me, though I knew he wanted to. Every time he saw me, his eyes would darken and my stomach would bottom out, but we’d never touch. But maybe for one brief inconvenient moment, while the door was open and the young woman beyond it needed help, we could pretend. Maybe it could be enough.
I shut my eyes tightly and pressed a kiss to his temple. Pretend, just pretend. I would give him the sex he had craved, and in return, he’d give me memories. It would be a payment, just the same.
“You want this,” I whispered.
He shuddered in my arms; it was like hugging a wild animal, one who could just as easily maul me as cuddle.
“Can I touch you?” he whispered. “Please.”
It unraveled me, that plea. As if he understood that a little bit of my soul slipped away every time someone touched me. As if he would cherish the part I gave him.
I scrambled away from him as if burned, breathing hard. No.
No one understood, which was exactly the way I liked it. I ran a shaking hand over my face to smooth away the panic.
Sure, he knew the score better than most people. He had worked the beat as a patrol cop and then as a detective. Life as a high-priced escort wasn’t glamorous; it was sweat and blood sprinkled with glitter. But he didn’t know the full extent, and I prayed he never would. Henri didn’t sell bodies; he gutted them.
I panted against the headboard, unable to walk away but unwilling to beg. Luke remained carved in stone where I’d left him sitting on the edge of the bed. The air pulsed with doubt and longing—with sex.
“I want it to be real between us.” He spoke low and hoarse.
A quiet sound escaped me. Every caress, every pinch. Every slur ever spoken. “It’s always real. That’s the problem, Luke. It’s always too damn real.”
He hung his head, and I thought for a moment I heard him say I know, but the moment slipped away, the sweet intimacy sailed away like clouds on the horizon—never really mine.

Griff may have to guard his heart and live out his darkest fantasies on camera. Can he rescue the man he loves without wrecking their careers, their families, or their friendship?

***My Review***

"No one deserves to be punished
for loving with an open heart."

O.k., first I have to make a confession; when I first started using Goodreads way back 2-3 years ago, writing book reviews and meeting all these great book-addicts all over the world and checking out their reviews and shelves I was sometimes perplexed by the type of books they enjoyed reading. One of them was also this genre: MM erotic contemporary, mostly because women were their greatest fans. Don*t get me wrong- I love a good erotic romance and don*t have anything against same-sex relationships, but I wasn*t sure if I would like it as much as my usual types of books, BUT then I started reading The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J. R. Ward and met Blay and Quinn and later on Soren and Kingsley from The Original Sinners Series by Tiffany Reisz who irrevocably won me over and totally change my perspective of this genre.

So I checked again the shelves of my friends who read this genre a lot to pick my first MM erotic romance novel, saw this book which got very high ratings from all of them and said to myself: what the heck, let*s do this!!! I*m so glad I did, because I freaking loved this story! When you look at the cover or read the summary, your first thoughts about the content of the book will probably be smth like these:

I know mine were ;). I mean, my dirty mind aside: 2 hot as hell firefighters (3 words: MEN IN UNIFORMS!!!*O*) in a MM romance novel- who can blame us!!! But this story is a lot more than just 2 firefighters feeling each other up.  It was more about accepting and coming to terms with who you are, about unbreakable bonds of friendship, about taking chances and following your heart no matter the outcome. It*s a very emotional story about trying to fit "the proper picture" the society has forced upon people and trying not to lose yourself in the process. It*s a story of Griff Muir, a Brooklyn firefighter, divorced, described as a very tall and muscled redhead in his early thirties who except working as a full-time firefighter, also works as a club bouncer wearing...*takes a deep breath*...a freaking  KILT people!

Hm, I have to say that, unlike rest of the female population, I have mixed feelings about guys in kilts- I wouldn*t call it a turn-off, but I wouldn*t call it a turn-on either, but Griff seemed definitely that he could work it ;).  Even though for such a rough and strong physical appearance he mostly appears menacing and intimidating to people who don*t know him making his job a lot easier, the more you get to know him, you see that he is actually a really nice and cute "giant" who blushes every time his longtime BFF Dante, also a firefighter says something "inappropriate".

"The dark kid vibrated with rage beneath him. ―You‘re wearing a
fucking skirt! Another faggot coming to his rescue. He struggled,
powerless on the floor and shamed in front of his lady. Love was the
―It‘s a kilt, dumbass. Griff sighed and looked down at the pleats
over his meaty thighs. He‘d been ready to just break it up and leave these
bozos alone. ―It‘s only a skirt if I wear underwear."

"Well, that makes you a hero, yes? But what do you think makes you
a HotHead?Alek crouched, getting closer to Dante‘s spread thighs,
shooting up so he loomed onscreen.
Suddenly, Dante stood up right over the camera, forcing it to tilt
back. ―‘Cause I‘m a crazy son of a bitch with a sick bod. His basket
bulged right in the center of the screen, but only the lower half of his face
was visible at this angle. Cleft chin, square jaw. ―‘Cause in Truth or Dare I
always pick dare.‖ Towering above Alek, he shrugged out of his heavy
jacket, slowly revealing the long-sleeved undershirt, emphasizing his
words. ―Because I don‘t have a good time, I am a good time. Why the fuck
else would I be here?"

Their friendship goes way back, they*ve been literally through heaven and hell together and share an unbreakable bond, but lately things have been changing between them. The story is told from Griff*s point of view and soon we see that he has been struggling with the new-found and unexpected feelings for Dante. He is confused and petrified to act on those feelings, especially because he is sure that*s a one-sided thing and what*s worse he knows that he is risking everything that he holds dear if he ever acts on them: his job, his family, his friends, but what*s scariest for him is that he could lose Dante forever.

"It had snuck up on Griff. He still couldn‘t say exactly when it had
happened, only when he‘d realized. Dante was the best friend he‘d ever
had in his life. They‘d grown up together, yeah. And they were family,
sure. But Dante had become his axis, a vital organ necessary for his
survival. Whole days would go by with nothing but those occasional two
hours of Dante to make him feel like a human being. The world was this
barren, radioactive junkyard he had to survive between Dante taking off
and Dante coming back again. "

―Didn‘t you ever… haven‘t you cared about something that much,
enough to wreck yourself for it? Dante‘s eyes bored into his like a
judgment, even though he didn‘t realize what he‘d said.
Haven’t I?
They were eye to eye and Griff almost couldn‘t take it.
―You gotta bigger heart than anyone, Griff. Dante‘s rough hand
reached around and held the back of his neck so he couldn‘t look away.
Griff didn‘t try. He swallowed and shifted his weight uncomfortably,
but he just held that searching stare without blinking and knew he‘d do
anything, literally anything, to help Dante. He knew all about wrecking
himself for something that mattered.

Dante is totally opposite from Griff: one loud, laid-back, cocky and incorrigible ladies-man who isn*t afraid to speak his mind, especially if it*s to make Griff blush which I loved. He does and says what he likes, trouble and mischief being his middle names, not caring what other people will say or think with Griff always coming to the rescue. So once again, Dante finds himself in a big trouble and begs Griff to help him. There*s no question for Griff when it comes to Dante, he*s more than willing to help him, until Dante*s idea of helping him lefts him shocked and speechless. His proposition is everything Griff wants and has been dreaming about, but he knows that if he says *yes* things will irrevocably change between them and even if Dante might be o.k. with it and move on when it*s all over, he never will.

―Doesn‘t the idea freak you out, D? Us, together like that?‖
―Why? It‘s just us, man. We done everything together.‖
―Not everything.‖ Griff was keeping an eye on the door at the back.
He had a little imp on each shoulder, twin devils whispering sin into both
Please let someone come down and stop him while I can still say no.
Please don’t let anyone come down here until I say yes.

I don‘t want to have some random guy creeping on me, but if it‘s
you….‖ His eyes flicked back to Griff.
―Seriously? Think about it; it‘s fucking weird.‖
―Nah. It‘s just us. It‘s you. You could never be weird.

Will Griff accept Dante*s proposition?
And if he does, can things between him and Dante go back they were or will he lose him forever?
Go buy the book and find out!!!
I LOVED the story and these two characters!!!It was so funnyemotionaltouching and beautiful and yeah- s m o k i n g  HOT!!!I was hooked right from the beginning and couldn*t let go. Another great thing and one of the biggest reasons I picked this book up is that the author is male and it was really refreshing to get the story from his point of view, especially because it*s a MM romance and it seemed more realistic and believable this way. I just realized that most of the book I read are written by female authors and it happens that sometimes when I read a book from a male point of view I get that feeling "oh woman, a guy would never ever say that  or think like that -_-", but this time it never happened. Actually, there were more of those feelings like: "w o a h, guys really do that!!!:D". Griff and Dante were so cute together and I was rooting for them from the very beginning. I also liked that we got insight in the everyday life of firefighters and that the story was actually more of a slow build which wasn*t overshadowed by tons of endless sex scenes which is often the case with erotic romance. For an erotic romance, this book actually didn*t have that much sex scenes, but boy when it did, let*s just say- the level of hotness was too damn high and it has one of the hottest kiss scenes I*ve ever read!

"I just wanna try. It‘ll be fine. No big deal. Maybe a
massage first? Two dudes. That‘d be okay, right?‖
What was he asking?
―And then, I want you—Dante leaned forward, pressing his chest
against Griff‘s muscular back, lips against his ear—―to fucking turn
yourself loose on me."

Fuck yeah!!! This definitely won*t be my last MM romance. The only question is :
Damon Suede, what are you waiting for- I want more Hot Heads!?!
