Genre:
Contemporary Romance/ Adult Fiction

Summary on Goodreads:

I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.

Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

***MY REVIEW***

“I don’t want it to get easier.” “Why?” She took the brush from my nightstand and tugged on me until I sat up. She brushed my hair with long, smooth strokes, reminding me of when I was a girl. She would sing to me and brush my hair before bed.  “Because if it gets easier…I’ll forget him.”

What would you do if you met someone you thought the love of your life, your soul-mate, had it for one fleeting second and then lost it forever? What would you do if everything happened right in front of your eyes? Would you be able to forget and move on or would you let yourself drown by the memories, guilt and pain?

I'm a big masochist reader meaning this book was a special treat for me. Dark, Fucked-Up & Emotional, with huge emphasis on emotional and definitely a WaY Too Hot read. When I see these 4 adjectives when reading book reviews, I'm an instant goner. This was also the case with this book. It will break your heart all over again, especially just when you think that things are finally getting better. The story will slap you in the face saying: guess again. I definitely didn't expect it to be this dark, but I'm glad it was. It made the story more real and believable.
Even though I liked the book very much, I must admit, it took me awhile to get into it in the beginning. Not until the big "slap in the face" did I start to feel all the hype everyone else kept talking about and not until Colton finally came in the picture. Kyle was good, sweet and all, a little overwhelming at times, but I just couldn't connect to his character at all the way I did later with Colton. Adding to that my mixed feelings about Nell, the main female character of the story. I just couldn't understand how can she be so broken and mourn Kyle's death, the supposed love of her life, and at the same time fall so instantly for Colton, who's btw his older brother. It was really disturbing in the beginning. I don't understand it even now after I finished the book, but then again, when reading about Kyle and Nell in the beginning of the story, I always had the feeling that Kyle was more into her, than she was into him. The good thing is that, even though it was kind of insta attraction between her and Colton, it took them years to actually act on it and that's why in the end I was o.k. with everything that happened.

She’s got so much pain, so many cracks and shards and jags in her soul, and I’m going to get cut by her if I’m not careful.  I can’t fix her. I know this too. I’m not going to try. I’ve had too many goody-goody girls hook up with me, thinking they can fix me.  I also know I’m not going to stay away. I’m going to grab onto her and let myself get cut. I’m good at pain. I’m good at bleeding, emotionally and physically.
“How do you compete with a ghost, Colton?” I whisper the question into a long silence. He shrugs. “I don’t know. You don’t. You just understand that there’s a part of you that you can’t give away, because it belongs to a dead person.

The story is told from, both, Nell's and Colton's pov. My favorite character was definitely Colton. He is the type of a guy who, just when you think that you can't love him more than you already do, surprises you all over. Musicians are my weak spot, I admit it. I completely fell in love with him when he sang her the song he wrote, his own, personal lullaby for a lonely and misunderstood child he once was. It was both beautiful and heartbreaking, because just like Nell, Colton is also deeply broken with a dark past haunting him, and the question is will Nell be the one who will finally help him heal or will she be the one who'll break him for good? The sex scenes between them where smoking hot and very explicit, but the musical part of story and Colton's poems are definitely my favorite parts of the book. I love how they connected even deeper through music they played and helped each other heal. I wish only that there had been more of his own poems, because they were really good and touching. But all of this wouldn't  really matter if there wasn't for the writing style of the author which I consider really good. I would have given the book 5 stars if there weren't some cheesy lines and the ending which was kind of abrupt and I felt that some things where left undone, especially after everything that happened towards the end.  Highly recommend it to every masochist reader out there.

“I’m no angel,” I
say, lifting up on one elbow and pushing him onto his back. “And you do deserve me. You deserve someone better than—”
“I deserve exactly you,” he cuts in, settling his hands on my hips as I kneel astride his thighs. “Only you. The good and the bad. All you, all beautiful.”

*** The 2nd book in the series is expected to be published in July 2013. It's called Falling Into Us (Falling, #2) and it focuses on characters who appear shortly in the 1st book: Becca, Nell's best friend and Jason. How to resist a book with such a gorgeous cover and  intriguing synopsis? I know I wont.

"Becca de Rosa is Nell’s best friend. When Kyle died, Nell was so devastated that no one could reach her, not even her best friend Becca. As she tries to help Nell through her grief, Becca’s own life is thrust into turmoil, and everything she knows is changed.

Jason Dorsey asked Nell out the week after her sixteenth birthday, but that date never happened. Instead, he ended up going out with Nell’s best friend, Becca. He had no way of knowing, then, how that one date would send him on a life-long journey with Becca. He had no way of knowing the tragedies and triumphs he would experience, or that in Becca, he might find the love of a lifetime.

THE HEARTACHE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET..."

My name is Monica. I’m a singer born and raised in Los Angeles.
I’ve stopped dating. When I cut a record, or win a Grammy, maybe then I’ll be with someone, but every man in my past has done everything he could to make me submit myself to him, and it’s gotten in the way of my career. I won’t do it again.

But there’s Jonathan. He owns the high-rise hotel where I work, and he is gorgeous and charming. I refuse to fall in love with him, even though when he asks me to submit to him, I want nothing more.

Review:

When your first open this ebook, fellow kinksters, you'll find a little boom. It's always exciting to start a story with an interesting dream. This one was one of them.

Monica is a singer/waitress but music is what defines her, especially singing. I immediately liked her because of that. Passionate music and sex in one book? Count. Me. In! Monica is a real artist, with soul and feelings – you see it all there when she performs. The author did a great job choosing the right words to describe and show it.
So, after her gig she went to work and accidentally splashed Jonathan Drazen with a drink. And just when they were admiring each other's looks.
And there is something I found strange and intruiguing about him.

"His green eyes flickered in the lamplight. I had to admit he was
stunning. His copper hair curled at the edges, and his smile could light a thousand cities. He couldn’t have been older than his early thirties."

Red, copper hair and green eyes? You don't see that very often.  I definitelly liked it.

So, Jonathan isn't angry with her, he was rather polite and even nice and fair when Monica complained about her boss who fired her then, finding her another job. What happens next leads to a strange connection forming between the two. Physical attraction definitelly. But that wasn't the only thing that kept bringing them together.

Monica is a sensitive but strong woman. She's poor, struggling with money as an honest worker. Also a very loyal friend. I really liked how she was almost like a mother to Gabby, her depressed and suicial friend. But that was also a demon to her. Monica is not a person with a dark past except her dumbass ex-boyfriend Kevin.

"I realized I’d let my sexuality control and manipulate me through him. He took my music and crushed it under the weight of his own talent. He ignored what I created, dismissing it, degenerating it, so that within three months, I couldn’t sing a word and any instrument I picked up became a bludgeon. I’d never felt so creatively dead and so sexually alive."

Because of this, she tries to keep this new thing with Jonathan without strings, but she's having a little problem with that... All this together with her artist's personality made her a pretty great character.

On the other hand, Jonathan is a rich and mysterious man. Known to the tabloids as a man with different lady every other time. But we also learn a little about his ex-wife. Jonathan is a man whose heart was broken, but he hides it well behind the casual smile. The kindness at the beginning marked him a likeable characher in my book right away. The only problem I had is that I was sometimes very confussed by him. I just couldn't make him out. There are definitely many layers to him. He a little intimidating, intruiging, has a dominant vibe about him, but he's also gentle and very fun. And many things more.

But I think that the acutal problem was that the plot flow was hard to keep up sometimes, but exciting. That's both a plus an a minus – the writing and the plot are very intense and it pulls you deep into the story, but at the same time you realize you forgot what happened at the beginning. It's an engaging story but not progressing at one good line, details get lost. I guess it's the characters, they suck out all the attention from everything else, even what they were doing.
So,about Monica and Jonathan together. It was a strange meeting at first.

"He looked at me again, then down to the floor. I felt as if he’d moved his hands off of me, and at once I was thrilled and ashamed. I wasn’t going to be intimidated or scared. I wasn’t going to let him look away from me. If he wanted to stare, he should stare. I placed my hands on my hips and let my body language challenge him to put his eyes where they wanted to go, not the floor.

Because, fuck him."

But it was attraction nonetheless. I liked how their conversation felt really intimate. Everything felt intimate about them, the touches, the kisses, the looks – they were not only sexual. There were funny lines, but I couldn't shake the deep feeling when I read about these too. I guess neither of them expected how attracted to each other they got.

It was a meeting of strong personalities with special qualities about them. These 70 pages were just too short to figure them out. But they were enough to present me a good piece of what I should expect of this story. And it's good. After all, it's just the beginning and I think things will be more clearer later.

For now, I also much enjoyed the sex scenes. One – very teasing and one at the end that was oh so hot..

"I pinched his nipple through his shirt and he gasped, biting my neck. I hated my clothes. I hated every layer of fabric between myself and his cock. I wanted to feel skin sweating above mine, his dick rigid and hot, his hands at my breasts. I wanted those hard, dry thrusts to be real, slick, sliding inside me...."

“I want you to want it,” he said.
“I do. My God, I do.”
In response, he pushed harder, increasing the pressure without entering me. “No, you don’t. Not enough.”
I knew what he wanted, and I was willing to give it to him. “Please. I’m begging you. I’m begging. I’ll do anything you want. I’ll be anything you want. Just don’t—”

„I didn't know I could give someone else control over what I felt.“

Umm, yeah... You'll just have to read this book to get more.

About The Author:

M-M Romance/ Contemporary

Summary on GOODREADS:

Ryan Gracin had a good life until he told his parents he was gay. Since they yanked their support for college he had to find a way to pay for it. Little did he know that joining the Army was going to change his life forever. Especially when he was introduced to a Drill Sergeant who was nicknamed 'Big Daddy'. Phillip Grabowski had joined the Army to follow in his father's footsteps; by the time Ryan entered, he had already made a name for himself. He was a soldier's soldier, but Ryan was making it really hard for him to remember that.

MY REVIEW:

They were quiet. They were deadly.
They were United States Fucking Army.
As I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death! I will fear no Evil!”
“As I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death! I will Fear no evil!”
Phillip's face grew hard. “For I am the baddest motherfucker in this valley!”

One word: U N P U T D O W N A B L E !!!
Super-Funny, Way-Too-Hot & very Emotional.
From the first page you get sucked in this crazy world of the USA army and stay so til' the very end.
Every page of this book was simply amazing. I fell in love with the story and all of its characters from the first page and kept on falling with every next chapter. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard while reading a book. It made me so happy :).

The story follows the life of the young soldiers and their bad-ass Drill Sergeants through years, from their 8 week training, then going to war, this time fighting for real and trying to survive. It's a story about unbreakable bonds of friendship and loyalty between soldiers who go literally through hell and back while trying to survive and not lose their minds after all the horrors they've been through. It's about their families faithfully waiting and praying for them to come home alive and flinching every time the phone rings, because it might be "that call". It's about love, true love, that even distance, time and years apart can't break. The main character is a soldier in training Ryan a.k.a Freckles with his 3 Bffs: Kenneth a.k.a Rosy-Ass, Patrick a.k.a Gandhi and Brendon a.k.a Furry and Drill Sergeant Philip Grabowsky a.k.a Big Daddy/ The Antichrist, or his personal favorite Boy-King with two other, equally as bad-ass Drill SergeantsI can't express how much I loved each end every single of these characters,  they were just adorable, especially Ryan with his unstoppable and totally cute giggling in the most inappropriate moments and Phillip with his bossy and dominant, who's-your-daddy attitude. Their crazy 8 weeks in training and the silly little and hilarious E-mails between them and their friends are my favorite parts of the book.

The hot and palpable chemistry between Ryan and Philip was there from the moment they met and the scenes between them were...let's just say, I got these strange urges of wanting to be a gay dude for a moment. There, I said it :D. The hot scenes weren't the focus of the book which I liked and there was just the right amount of them and at the right moment. The ending was simply beautiful. It wasn't too cheesy like it's usually the case with romance books. It was simply right and made me a bit teary-eyed, but from happiness. All in all this book is a MUST-READ for every M M romance lover out there.  Drill Sergeant Crystal Rose, respect!

Now, to get this gift you have to stay sharp. Keep your head down. Don't be a hero unless you have to. All you have to
do is survive. I know you can.

***Here's WHAT my friend IVA SAID about the book***

My feelings! My f*cking feelings! I don't know if I want to cry or laugh or just pray to God and thank him for everything! I loved this book! Ryan and Phillip were amazing and the whole crew of soldiers. The connection between them, the love and friendship they share for each other, they would all die for each other and THAT will never disappear! It all just gives you a sense of pride. They are US Army soldiers and they sacrifice their lives, their family and their sanity to protect everyone. As they say:

"They came in as boys, go out as men."

The basic training from the beginning is the funniest part of the book. I can't even count the number of times I LOL-ed like crazy and remember the time I had a better laugh. Phillip and Ryan grew an attraction for each other but it took them years to be together and they're an awesome couple - HOT and a little cute too ;)
There are a lot of hardships revolving around the consequences of being in a war and dealing with them with the help of your fellow soldiers, also what happens when someone close to you suffers and gets wounded or even killed in the war? How does the family and everyone at home cope with the fear of losing someone? Can love survive the long absence and distance? Find it all out in this very funny but strongly emotional book.

*** Great news for all of us who enjoyed  this book is that there will be a sequel *high five* :D. The publication date hasn't been set yet, but the author wrote on her blog that the book is finished, but unfortunately, she doesn't have an editor, so she has to do all the work herself and we'll have to wait a bit more, but lucky for us, she did give us a small SNEAK PEAK -  check it out!
Here's what she said about the 2nd book:

"It's actually finished...but I am going through and tweaking things. This has been one of the hardest stories for me to finish off. The first story deals with friendship and some with the horrors of war. But, the second deals with the aftermath. Phillip is not a very good 'sit back and wait' sort of character...this book deals more with his injury and the fact he's not superman. Which throws him out of his element. Plus, I deal less with the group of friends and more on Phil and Ryan.

I REALLY want this book to be as good as Drill, but it's reading choppy and the guys are doing their very best to drive me crazy. :) "

There's no doubt in our minds that it will be as good as Drill or even better Mrs Rose! Thank you for writing this great  and utterly entertaining story.

XOXO

~Summary~

Who is Sebastian Lock?

Sophia had never felt attraction like that before. Raw. Electric. Irresistible. Swept off her feet by the dashing, enigmatic billionaire Sebastian Lock, she was taken on a journey of self-discovery, taken to places she never dreamed she’d go.

But things are never as simple as they appear. Sophia’s trust is a fragile thing, and Sebastian seems insistent on testing it. He has his own demons to battle, and nobody has brought them to the fore like she has.

As their relationship deepens, and Sophia begins to break down his walls, all that greets her are more questions. Why is Sebastian fighting so hard to keep her at a distance? Who is the girl on the background of his phone? And why does the strange tattoo on his chest seem so familiar?

These puzzles plague her, but as Sebastian’s mysteries begin to unravel, she must face an entirely different truth. Staying in the dark may be painful, but finding the answers could be deadly.

~Review~

A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

First of all, I love the second cover as much as the first book's cover! Who makes them? They're really amazing and fit the book with its elegance and sensuality. I also saw the Locked cover on several other books.

So this novella is a direct continuation after the first book where we were left confused over the picture on Sebastian's phone. It wasn't a big matter to solve and it pasted quickly but with it we began to get more about Sebastian and his past. Throughout the book there were several small things revealed and I really liked the pace of it. It was not yet a big boom, which I expect in the final book considering the ending. It ware details about his life that are very painful and it was just that reason that Sebastian ans Sophia were getting closer to each other, not only sexually but emotionally.

"I knew it was a side of him that he rarely shared, which made it all the more special that he was doing so with me. One by one, his walls were tumbling down. "

But when I first started the novella I was afraid that I won't like it. There was this stupid thing Sebastian, as a dominant and... playful, I guess, man told Sophia to do.

"It was a company steeped in tradition, yet there I was marching the hallways with a pair of sodden panties in a box in my hands and a sex toy between my legs. It was crazy. For the hundredth time I asked myself why I was giving Sebastian so much control, but of course I knew the answer. Because I enjoyed it as much as he did."

Well I didn't enjoy it.

I don't know. It was ridiculous to ask a woman who was never penetrated in the ass to wear a butt plug while she's working. I know that if goddamn Channing Tatum asked me to do it, I wouldn't. It was just unrealistic. The balls for the p*ssy in the Fifty Shades books were more acceptable and more comfortable.

But thank God it got much better. The chess scene showed how great they are as a couple and a team. I think that was a part where they saw how good they are together. The sex has as hot as in the first book.

" I'd enjoyed being in control of his pleasure, but there was something erotic about having him fuck my mouth too. It was base, it was possessive, and it was hot as hell watching his self control unravel before my eyes."

But now.. they began to develop a more emotional connection, the sure sign being the sleepovers. But Sebastian was afraid of emotion and I really loved how Sophia confronted him about it. She stays true to herself, the woman we met in the first book - confident and strong; she's careful and not sure about the future but she still knows what she wants and she realized she wants a relationship with Sebastian and all that comes with it. And she knows that's not easy and she talks! Doesn't make assumptions or runs away from the smallest sign of possible complication. And after Sebastian's little break down, they began to get closer to each other.

The night when he took her to that small restaurant, when they danced and later watched the view was just sweet. That whole night was so sweet! It's probably my favorite past of the book. It was how a date should go.

But trouble is not far away. Sophia was suspicious from the beginning that there is something more about that Sebastian's tattoo. She discovers more things but that ultimately led to a disaster. Coupled with trouble at work... And then the ending and the cliffhanger... This really needs to get fixed fast!!! Damn, Sebastian should have trusted her more.

Now I really can't want for the third and final part. Sebastian, solve this mess!
I loved the book, but because of the rocky beginning I gave it 4 stars. The author still does awesome job with the characters and their relationship, and not to forget the law stuff (you can see that she does many research for it) which is still not boring. But some thing were just too much.

Maya Cross, keep kicking ass with this story. We want a big finale :)

Until next time,

Losing It (Losing It, #1)by Cora Carmack

Buy the book:

Author's Web-Page:

Genre:
CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE/ NEW ADULT

Summary on GOODREADS:

Virginity.
Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theater professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

***My Review***

“SERIOUSLY? Is it because of Jesus? Are you, like, saving yourself for him?” Sex seemed simpler for Kelsey. She had the body of a Barbie and the sexually-charged brain of a teenage boy.
“No, Kelsey,” I said. “It would be a little difficult to save myself for someone who died over two thousand years ago.”

After the last two, let's say, more complex and longer books with lots of drama, I really needed something easy and fun and not so big on the drama part, so I picked this book up and fortunately it was exactly what I needed. It was a sweet, short and fun student-professor love story with some drama, but nothing too serious and some pretty hot "naughty-teacher/ student-scenes". Let's face it, I think that pretty much every second girl had a crush or at least fantasized about her teacher/professor (or a coach in my case ;) at some point in her life. And yes- another endangered V-card.

THE THINGS I LIKED THE MOST ABOUT THIS BOOK:

Humor
Some characters were really funny, especially the main female character Bliss and her little "incidents" which kept me entertained through the whole book. Omg, this girl is a champ when it comes to how to thoroughly embarrass yourself in a trillion kind of ways in a short amount of time xD and her little, inner dialogues were hilarious. I could totally relate to her in this. I also tended to talk nonsense uncontrollably when I was nervous- it's a curse really and totally embarrassing, but just like Bliss- I can't help myself, even though, I must say she definitely would have won if we ever competed.

“Sex.
I was going to have sex.
With a boy.
A hot boy.
A hot BRITISH boy.
Or maybe I was going to throw up.
What if I threw up on the hot British boy?
What if I threw up on the hot British boy DURING SEX?”

“How’s your cat?”

“What cat? Oh! MY CAT. The cat… that is mine. Oh, she’s... ” I had said it was a she, right? “She’s fine. All meowing and purring and other cat things.” God, why did the door have to be so far away?

Garrick a.k.a The Naughty Professor- Although I'm not a big fan of the British accent and British phrases, this particular professor was pretty hot at times, but also a bit frustrating with the mixed signals he was giving Bilss.

* no big drama
There was really no bigger drama in this book, so you won't have any urges to throw your reader out of the window- I assure you.

THE THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE:

*The beginning was kind of shaky. It took me some time to really get into the story and I didn't like the way them two met- I know that he is a teacher and all, but which normal person goes to a bar and reads Shakespeare there while everybody else is dancing or getting drunk. I'm a teacher, but there's no way you'll see me reading German dictionary in a bar o.O.

*“Lead the way, love.”
I know that the guy is British, but did he really have to call her love the second they met and after that most of the time? Some probably think of it as endearing, but I didn't like it at all. Unlike the rest of the female population, British accent isn't exactly a turn on for me.

*slightly immature characters- From time to timesome of them didn't seemed so funny anymore, but more immature for their age and I'm definitely not a fan of immature characters. They are supposed to be in collage, not high school.

*some "cheesy" content
There was some cheesy content which made my skin crawl, especially in the end. The ending was way-too-romantic for my taste and that's why I'm rating it with a C-.

Short, fun, very romantic professor/ student romance book, an easy read. Was it way-too-hot? Hm...Not so much like the hot cover promised, but it was funny. So if you can deal with the reasons above, this is a book for you.

* The 2nd book in the series is expected to be published on 4th of June 2013 and it will be about another character from this book- Cade & Mackenzie  and it's called-Faking It (Losing It, #2).

* Also in August 2013 is expected the publication of Keeping Her (Losing It, #1.5) where the story from Losing It will continue, but this time from Garrick's pov.

Think of everything we’ve missed. Every touch and every kiss. Because we both insist. Resist.

No matter how close, you are always too far...

Forever.

+++MY REVIEW+++

Too caught up in your sweet, heartbreaking words, in your strong, capable arms and in your warm, soft lips. I’m too caught up in this…pretend life I’m so completely submersed in. And you know what? I like it. I love it. Even though I know deep down inside, it’s fake. That the way you talk to me, look at me, touch me. Kiss me…is all for show. I’m some sort of protection for you but I don’t care. I want it. I want you.

Dark.

Highly Emotional.
Hot & Steamy.
Very Fucked-uP.

Just the way I like my books. I was caught up in this book from the first sentence of the prologue and couldn't stop reading til the very end. The prologue is truly beautiful and well-written and I knew immediately from that point on that I will like, if not love, this book. It's a story about two broken souls coming together and falling in love, but there's a big BUT there. Both of them have a lot of issues and problems which keep coming between them and the question is: Can they save each other from their worse nightmares and fears which keep haunting them or were they just too broken and hopeless from the very beginning?
A rich football star with a bright future & a poor waitress with a promiscuous reputation become involved in each other's lives out of necessity with just one rule: no strings attached. He needed the alibi and she needed the money. Simple as that. But we all know that life is anything, but simple and soon enough them two will too.

“I have a fucked up family too.” Her quiet voice reaches inside of me and instantly calms my nerves. Her easy acceptance is unexpected. “Doesn’t everyone?” I’m trying to joke, but most of the time I believe I’m alone with the madness. No one’s family is as fucked up as mine.
She’s growing on me. A lot. I
want to get to know more about her. She’s still a mystery, but so am I. I can’t tell her my secrets though. They’ll send her running.

Fable is a type of girl against whom most of the people would have a lot of prejudices. She has no true friends, usually hangs out with shallow people and sleeps around. Basically, guys use her for one thing only and she lets them and there are rumors about her being the football team slut. Even though I don't exactly approve such behavior I say: FUCK THAT! There are two people (at least :D) necessary to have sex and if boys can have fun whenever and with whomever, why shouldn't girls too? Why do they always get to be excused for their behavior and the girl always gets to be The Slut when they both "participated"??? These middle-aged beliefs are getting more and more frustrating with each passing day.
*Don't judge me if you don't know my story*- that's something I totally agree with, but I know that some things will never change and unfortunately, there are and there will always be lots of Fables in this world. Drew has a similar problem like Fable- he, unlike most of the guys, avoids any kind of relationship, especially anything physical and just like that he is immediately labeled as homosexual in other people's eyes, even though he is far from it. What? A successful & hot football player/student being celibate??? Call the exorcist immediately!-_- What the rest of the stuck-up society doesn't know is that both Fable and Drew have one thing in common which will in a way bring them together and which deeply influenced their personalities- a very fucked-up family and when I say fucked-up, I mean fucked-up b i g  t i m e. When you hear their story, everything will become clear, especially why they behave the way they do. I can't imagine how can anybody stay sane growing up in such an environment, especially in Drew's case. It was both heartbreaking and horrifying at the same time. Both of them had their good and bad moments, moments when you just want to hug them and tell them that everything is gonna be o.k. and moments when you just wanted to shake them to snap out of the misery they were feeling and finally do smth about it. This time, the girl was the one who had more guts than the guy. To tell you the truth, when I think about it, if I were Fable, I don't know if I could cope with the "baggage" Drew came and I kind of admired her for that. But still, sometimes the things that bring you together can also set you apart.

“There’s no going back,” he whispers, as if he can read my mind. I slowly nod, too overcome to find words. “Once I’m inside you, you’re mine.”
Drew completely undoes me, with a look, with a word, with a thrust of his body, with a lick of his tongue. Every single thing he does to me devastates. Intoxicates. Renews. Every single thing inside of me. “I’ll never forget who I’m with,” I whisper against his lips before I kiss him.

The book ended with a cliffhanger. I'm not sure if I quite like how the things ended. I didn't like *the thing* Drew did in the end at all. I thought it was selfish and an act of cowardice, but I still get him in a way and hope he will come to his senses in the 2nd book. All in all I really liked the story and will definitely be buying the second one which, lucky for me, is out already- Second Chance Boyfriend (Drew + Fable, #2). 4 way-too-hot stars!!!

I was too scared, too afraid what might happen if I lived after all. So I turned into a shell. A robot going through the motions, living my life, doing what I was supposed to and getting ahead just fine. Keeping everyone at a distance, embracing football and nothing else. Until this girl came along and intrigued me. Surprised me. Intoxicated me. Stripped me completely.

Book summary:

"Delilah Palmer has control of her life and outward personality, blocking the truth just below the surface. A fa├žade meant to be normal and hide the scars of her childhood. She’s made a good life for herself, became a lawyer, and is free from the tortured past that haunts her daily. Until he comes along and breaks open the cracks.

Nathan Thorne has a past of his own. On the surface he is loved by all, personable, extroverted; everything Delilah isn’t. Hidden beneath is a dark and tormented man that only Delilah has to power to unveil.

Crammed in a small office together they see through each other’s masks, and the draw becomes too much, igniting an explosive relationship. Holloway and Holloway Law has a strict non-fraternization policy, forcing them to conceal their breach. Despite their efforts, separation becomes impossible, deceptions escalate, and Nathan has trouble coping; teetering on the edge of being overtaken by his past demons.

What secrets does he harbor that could keep him from giving in? What keeps him from healing and moving forward? And Delilah, where does she fit into all this turmoil?

Can they accept love and deal with all the trials that come their way when secrets are exposed? Or will they fall through the cracks of their pasts and be consumed by all that haunts them?"

Glass:
Fuck would be perfect choice if you want to describe this book. Fuck, fuckity, fucking fuck. Yes, this is book about people having sex. All the time. Everywhere. Sex. Yes, you will be horny as fuck after you red Breach. Pardon my French - this book got my fucking hormones fucking crazy.

Iva:
Hey, hey! You didn't mention exactly why is it so fucking hot and making you (and me too!) go crazy. Dear kinky ladies, Nathan Thorne is a dirty talker. That naughty, wicked, flaming piece of pure sex had a mouth of a dirty-talking expert the likes I have not ever read.

“You are my cock slut, my sex goddess, and my beautiful girl. That’s all you need to know.”
Should we list several more clear examples? Maybeee...

“Yeah, that’s it, squeeze me. Take me all the way in. I’m not going to stop until you’re coming while screaming how much you fucking love it.”

“Yes, that’s it, baby. Take it. Flood your pussy and let it flow out onto my dick. You know you want to.”

„Listen to you moaning like a whore. You love my fingers buried inside you, don’t you? Not as much as you love my cock filling you to the hilt though.”

Glass:
Let's go to the story. Considering that this is self-published book, I have to say that it's evident that author worked really hard on it, writing, rewriting, editing (unlike most of indie books). Big plus. But... There is always but. Breach reminded me a little bit of few "office" Twilight fan fictions. I tried to find if it was originally fan fiction, but I couldn't find anything. Why did I think that? Well, let's see. First character we meet is clumsy girl Delilah Palmer who struggles with low self-esteem. And then, voila, sex on the stick Nathan Thorne comes along. He is brooding man who catches attention of everything with vagina, but no - this alpha specimen does not want C-cup "street walker wannabees". Nathan wants Delilah.
Now you are rolling your eyes and thinking: "Oh, shut up, bitch! That's half of the romance books published in last two years." Let me just tell you one more thing. He is constantly pushing her away because he's afraid that he will hurt hurt her and that he is not man enough for her. Nathan, honey, please:

If a girl doesn't have that reaction on you, she is:
a) out of her fucking mind,
b) lesbian (but I think even few lesbians would think twice about possibility to try what you offer).
This doesn't mean that I didn't like Breach. I liked it a lot. A lot!

Iva:
Totally agree, Glass. A healthy woman would never turn away from a lip-bitting sex god! I'm twisting in my chair just thinking about it! And while this book reminded Glass of some fan fictions, it reminded me of Bared To You. Minus the rich CEO and stalking thing. Both main characters are very much mentally damaged,. their own seperate tragedies shaping them, giving them nightmares and demons that they are trying to fight off, trying to push them far away wearing masks over their faces keeping the suffering invisible to others. But Nathan Thorne and Delilah Palmer are of that same kind and they recognized those masks in each other until one day everything exploded. And then began one very strange and dangerous relationship.

"How odd they were, the feelings I held. They were so different from what I had known. His anger didn’t scare me, it electrified me. It stemmed from his desire for me, and I was vibrating in anticipation."

"When he punished me, I could feel my whole being open up to him. He filled me with an emotion I couldn’t describe, but I knew I wanted more of it. I craved it."

See, even though I read several books with damaged people and dark pasts in them, I didn't feel like this was completely same to them. I really disliked the mere similarity, but liked how this one had more depth to it. Especially toward the end. Glass already said it - you can see how thoroughly the author did her work with their mental state and changes. And I loved that! It was not just sex, sex, sex - it was emotion and challenge and fight. Sometimes, a person can only survive holding onto another like them trying to keep yourself on the surface of reality and not sink down.
When he pushed me over the edge, I felt my heart spring open.
I was home.
We were one in that moment, together again, bound to each other in a way neither of us understood, but were beginning to accept.

But what happens when you lose that? When your hold slips?

Glass:
Now, I know you wouldn't mind if I go in crazy fan girl mode. I just want to say this - if the story wasn't as good as it is, Nathan Thorne would still be worth the trouble reading it. On few occasions Delilah calls him her sex god. He could go into that category along with Kellan Kyle, Travis Madoxx, Remington Tate, Alex Kennedy, Jake Wethers and Bowen brothers.

Iva:
Hah, yes Glass, he really is there right up with the rest of the book boyfriends. But warning to all of you, this book has got one mother of cliffhangers! While I am angry that I must wait months for the sequel, I have to say that I actually loved it. The book wouldn't be it and true to itself if it didn't end with an explosive finale.

Glass:
Who should read this book? All of you who like possessive alpha males. If you read and liked Fifty Shades of Gray, Beautiful Bastard, Trust in Advertising, Bared to You you should like this book too.

Don't make us mad, go and read! If you know of awesome books we should buddy read soon - let us know!:)

Until next time,
 xoxo
