Book summary

In his father’s eyes, Dylan Deveraux is just a playboy spending the family fortune on prostitutes, alcohol, and fast cars. And it isn't even with the cars his father produces. Because of that, his father forbids his presence at the ball that will mark the launch of the US plant of his company, strategically scheduled on Valentine’s Day.

Hayley Allen is a failing model with the worse luck in the world. She always ends up in the hands of cruel designers and photographers. At least, that’s what she tells herself. Better than admit having a weak nervous system that always reacted during her gigs. Desperate, she would do anything to help her career.

Dylan shows up at her door, wasted as usual. Friends for a long time, Hayley is the only one able to put up with Dylan’s bullshit, and he appreciates that, but not the way her heart wants.

Even though he doesn't believe in Valentine's Day, Dylan has an idea for his father's ball. When he suggests a deal to Hayley, a deal that could finally put her in the spotlight of success and help him impress his father, she doesn't hesitate. Even if it means hurting her heart a little more.

"Dylan kissed Hayley, his lips moving slowly at first, afraid of getting her madder than she already was, afraid of falling under her spell more than he already had. But her scent burnt his nostrils and her sweet taste teased his mouth, and he lost it. His need grew, and he increased the speed and pressure of the kiss. Startling him, she matched his new rhythm, her soft lips moving along with his, her nails scratching the back of his shoulder, sending shivers down his spine, shaking his core. Wanting more of her, needing more of her, he slid his hands up her bare back, rubbed her silky skin, glued himself to her. He loved her skin on his, her warmth mingled with his.

Dylan could have kissed her forever, and he would have, weren’t it for Dorant.

“Perfect,” the photographer said, destroying the moment. “And that’s a wrap. We’re done here, people.”

The kiss slowed, their hands drew back, and finally Hayley pulled her head back, breaking the kiss, her wide eyes on his.

Damn, he missed her lips already.

“Hayley, I-”

She walked away without hearing him. Perhaps, it was for the best, since he wasn’t sure what to say. He felt he needed to say something, to fix them, to fix their relationship.

Hayley, on the other hand, didn’t seem eager to fix anything."

Contemporary Romance/ Mystery/ Adult

Summary on GOODREADS:

Ellie Watt is used to starting over. The daughter of a grifting team, Ellie spent her childhood being used as a pawn in her parents' latest scam. Now she’s much older, wiser and ready to give her con artist life a rest. But returning to the dry desert town of Palm Valley, California means one more temptation than she bargained for – Camden McQueen. Once known as the high school weirdo, Camden is bigger and badder than the boy he used to be and a talented tattoo artist with his own thriving business. Ellie’s counting on Camden still being in love with her but what she’s not counting on is how easily unrequited love can turn into obsession over time. When Camden discovers Ellie’s plan to con him, he makes her a deal she doesn’t dare refuse, but her freedom comes with a price and it’s one that takes both Ellie and Camden down a dangerous road.

***The Artists Trilogy is a dark and sexy contemporary ride about three flawed individuals caught in a world where it's so easy to justify the bad things we do. This is a pure adult read (Not YA or NA).

This is the 1st book in the trilogy. It is followed by the novella On Every Street (The Artists Trilogy #0.5) (released in March 2013) and the sequel Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy #2) (released in May 2013). The third and final book in the series will also be released in 2013.***

 MY RATING:

***MY REVIEW***

“What happens to love when it turns to hate?”

Some books simply DESERVE to be reviewed, because of their awesomeness and I'm very happy to say that this is one of those books. I heard a lot about this author and her awesomeness even before this book and I*m here to confirm it. She is also the the author of "Experiment In Terror" Series which many of my friends on GR read and love and after reading this book I definitely plan to read them too. The minute I saw the cover and the title I knew that this will be my type of read and that I had to have it and then I read the summary and was immediately hyperventilating to get my hands on it. I don*t know what is it about me and these dark, hyper-emotional and heart-wrenching reads, I don*t have "daddy or mommy issues", but I just know that I crave them like ice-cream and they are my favorite "flavor". This book was just like that. From the very beginning it pulls you in her little fucked-up world and doesn*t let you leave until you  find out all her dirty, little secrets.

So let me introduce you a bit to the story :
The main character is a 26 year old woman called Ellie Watt. Immediately, at the beginning of the story we find out that Ellie isn*t an ordinary girlie-girl, especially when it comes to her "profession", because you see- Ellie is a con artist taught by her parents in her early age and she excels at it. She leads a very dangerous and adventurous life, picking out her rich "victims" online, stealing their money and moving from place to place, every time with a new name and a new face. Her lifestyle made her a lone wolf; she doesn*t have any real friends or boyfriend, because her life is based on lies and deceives and she never sticks around in one place long enough to lead a normal life. She doesn*t like the way she lives, in fact she hates it and both hates herself and especially her run-away and wanted parents for turning out the way she did, always thinking that her next fraud would be also her last one, just a little more money to steal and then she*ll quit and finally try to lead a normal life, but every time something unexpected comes up and blows up all her chances at it.

"I was used to running and always kept a spare life in the trunk. Spare clothes, spare driver’s licenses, spare Social Security Numbers, and a spare tire. As soon as I felt like I was a comfortable distance away, I’d pull into a motel under a new name. I’d change the plates on my car. Yes, Jose wasn’t the most inconspicuous of vehicles, but I was sentimental about the car. After all, it wasn’t even mine."

“Get a bunch of desperate men to fall in love with you. Tell them you’d love to meet them, fuck them, marry them, but you’re stuck in Russia and don’t have the funds to leave the country to do so. Get them to give you the funds. Close down your OK Cupid account. Simple as that.”

From the minute I started to read about and getting to know Ellie, I got this picture of her in my head  which stayed in my mind through the whole book, even though the author pictured her a bit different. In my fantasy world she took the face of this actress I really like- Shannyn Sossamon.

"I wasn’t ugly by any means. I had my mother’s Estonian features, which meant high cheekbones, heart-shaped lips, and dark, hooded eyes. But my beauty was always more of a “hey, I never actually realized how pretty you were.” If I was just standing in the corner of a room, your eyes would pass over me. I’d go unnoticed. And I liked that. If I was walking, well that was another story."

“Why are you so afraid of me?” I asked him softly. I thought he’d look perplexed at the question but he only looked chagrined. “I’ve always been afraid of you, little Hellie. You’ve got something dark inside you, you always have. I don’t want to be around when it comes out.

I don*t know why, maybe because she is described like a girl whom you wouldn*t define as your typical beauty, but the girl that has that special something, a girl you look at for the first time and see a story in her eyes you wish you knew. That kind of girl was Ellie for me.
Me and her had a love and hate relationship. There were times when I really liked her, because no matter how broken and fucked-up she is, no matter her criminal life, after you hear her story, you understand and in a way justify everything she did, good or bad, but they were also times when her behavior and insecurities really frustrated me, especially when it comes to Camden and I didn*t feel bad for her at all when she, let*s say-got exactly what she deserved, but she won me over completely in the second half of the book and especially in the end. I simply have a big soft spot for these broken characters and always wish them to have their HEA no matter what.

So, at the beginning of the story Ellie finds herself again in a deep and life-endangering trouble and needs to disappear where none of the dangerous people would find her and what a better place to hide than the town she grew up and left many years ago. Going back to her town also means taking back her real identity, becoming Ellie Watt again, a person who none of the people she crossed ever got to know, a person who won*t be welcomed warmly by her once time neighbors.
Why is that, you ask? Well, the biggest reason for that are her parents who did smth really bad and had to escape from the town leaving her with her uncle and by doing that they marked her as a weird and unwanted child of criminals in everyone*s eyes. Unfortunately, as if that wasn*t enough, the event which lead to their disappearance also marked her in a different and for her much worse way- smth bad happened that day which left her legs covered in big scars and caused her limping.
You can imagine that she wasn*t the most popular girl in the school, actually the school was her own personal hell.

Already she’d earned the nicknames “Sir-Limps-A-Lot” (which didn’t make much sense considering her gender), “The Gimp,” and “Crippled Cow.”

To her, there was nothing as humiliating as walking along the side of a road. People had no choice but to stare at her
as she went past, and she could almost hear what they were all thinking. “I wonder what happened to her. Why does she walk so funny? Why is she wearing jeans when it’s one hundred degrees outside?” She could see their curious stares as they drove past, see them forming the judgements in their heads.

People made fun of her and her "disability" and imagine what that does to a young girl.
The only person who was always on her side and her only true friend was Camden McQueen, a young gothic kind with long, messy hair, black lipstick and eye-shadow or in other people*s eyes- another "weirdo" and an unavoidable bully material. It was a long time ago when I fell in love with a fictional character, but this guy totally won me over in spite of his "Dumbo ears", Gothic style and his dark and a bit aggressive side (yes- the fact that he later on turns to a hot and sexy tattoo artist/ rock band member definitely helps out ;D). I tried to find a picture that could come close to the way I imagined him, but it was impossible. I guess, nothing comes close to my wild imagination lol, but back to the story (P.S. So glad that the author didn*t describe him as another replica of our famous Ian Somerhalder like everyone else these days. I really think I would give up reading if she did.) So, Ellie and Camden  had it really bad in high school, always on the radar of the high-school bullies. My heart was breaking for them and the things they had to go through. I can*t stand bullies and feel sorry for the poor kids who have to deal with it every day in real life. It makes me angry when the "big boys" take it on the weaker ones. The only thing that made it easier for them two was their innocent and beautiful friendship which was starting to develop into smth more, until Ellie does smth and ruins it for good and things start to fall apart from that moment.

“You’re a bad person, Ellie,” he said without a trace of irony. She watched him carefully, like a trap ready to spring. “I’m not bad. The world is bad and I’m just trying to survive in it.” He smiled, both sad and self-righteous. “And that’s why I chose you,” he whispered, leaning in so close she had to flatten against the locker.

“Do you think because you can’t see my scars that they don’t exist? That’s the trouble with pain, Ellie. If you’re lucky, you can wear it for all the world to see. Most people have their pain deep inside, in places no one ever goes. Not until it’s too late.”
So Ellie is back in her town and it seems that nothing has changed- she still is and feels unwelcome, even her uncle is scared of her and wants her gone as soon as possible, but to do that Ellie needs money, so she could disappear for good and start somewhere fresh and clean and she needs it fast and the only job she knows will make it possible in such a short time is the one she promised herself she*ll quit. Things get even more complicated when she bumps in the one person she never thought will see again- Camden McQueen. She didin*t even recognize him at first, because he doesn*t exactly look as the gothic weirdo she remembers, actually he turned out quite well =)).
He is a changed man, both physically and mentally, has a small fortune in the bank and there are rumors about him gaining that money by working with some suspicious people and what*s weirdest is that he acts very friendly to Ellie, like nothing happened since the last time he saw her .
Ellie*s thoughts about Camden are mixed. He says and does things that completely blow her mind, but no matter what, she knows that she can*t stick around and is afraid to open herself to someone, because the last time she did-she got burned pretty bad.

And so there I was, standing outside the house of a guy who knew me when I was still redeemable. Someone who had known me and my parents. Knew exactly what I was and where I came from. Someone who was asking me out on a date to see his show. And I was thinking two things: one, I couldn’t afford to befriend anyone, let alone someone I wouldn’t mind seeing naked, and two,  how much cash could I take from him before I hated myself?
“I don’t want you to see.” Suddenly he was down on his knees, and though there were a few inches between us, he was closer than he’d ever been. “I don’t care, Ellie,” he said determinedly. I kept shaking my head, unable to form words, unable to tell him how I was feeling. I just wanted him to go away and leave me alone, let me get dressed in peace. I wanted to run. I wanted the darkness to swallow me whole. “You know how I feel about your scars. They only make you more beautiful,” he whispered, now stroking the side of my face. His eyes were searching mine, begging me to open up but the fear was so big and so damn real. “You’ve never seen my scars.” My voice was barely audible, even in my own head. “No, I haven’t. But I’ve seen what they’ve made you.”

And that*s just the beginning of this wonderful and captivating story.
Can Ellie finally let go of the pain and fears and open herself to someone?
Is Camden really so "innocent and forgiving" as he seems? What happens when your past and worse nightmares find you?
BUY THIS BOOK, READ IT AND FIND OUT!!!

Now, for all of you wondering: was this book way-too-hot? - Let me assure you that it definitely was! I wouldn*t define it as erotica, this is one of those books were the story builds up to that special moment and I prefer these kind of reads, but boy, those rare, but explosive moments were smoking hot!!! The chemistry between Camden and Ellie was...hm...let*s just say it made me want to join a golf club which I considered one of the most boring sports in the world until this book (when you read the book, you*ll get it ;).) And I just loved the ending, even though I wanted to hunt the author to give me the sequel right away, because you see, lucky for us all- this is going to be a series and the author plans to publish 3 more books, all in this year, one of which would be a prequel to this story. Camden, baby, I*ll be waiting for you !!!

He glared up at me. “You’re so afraid, Ellie Watt. You’re afraid to show the world what you’re really like. You’re afraid to come to peace with your scars, because the minute you do, the minute you accept them, you have to let go of your anger. You have to let go of your quest. And then who would you be?”

FENDER BENDER BLUES EXCERPT

“Now what?”
“Nothing.”Rach sniffed.
Craig shifted to eye her warily. “Since when do you answer me with single words?”
“Since I decided I’m not talking to you,” she answered with a shrug, crumpling up the white paper wrapper from her sub.
Craig leaned his face in close to her neck and enjoyed the startled jerk of her shoulders. Her eyes opened wide in surprise. His breath shifted a few strands of hair at the nape of her neck as he whispered, “Why, because you want me?”
“You’re incorrigible,” she said, breathless, her cheeks flushed.
She’s enjoying this. The thought pleased him. Rach was on her back beside him now, her eyes closed. He glanced around the park to see if anyone was watching. No one was. He could swoop in for a kiss and no one would catch him. No one would care, he told himself. She won’t mind
“I can feel you staring.”
Craig smiled down at her. “So what.”
She peeked at him with one green eye. “So stop it.”
“And if I don’t?” Maybe she’d tackle him, push him down on the blanket and…
She didn’t. She promptly closed her eye and went back to pretending indifference. “I’ll hit you, that’s what.”
“Not if I do this, you won’t.”
He’d only meant it to be a short kiss, but the pleasure of touching his lips to hers kept him there longer. Her tongue was velvet soft and warm against his and the slow mating of their mouths quickened his heartbeat even as he told himself, It’s no big deal, just a kiss.
She nipped his bottom lip and sent heat sliding through his body. The woman could kiss.
She whispered soft against his lips, “Now why don’t you admit that it’s you who wants me.”

Book summary

"Summer McGallian … the scandalous home wrecker from Against the Wall and Between The Sheets.   The one who stole her co-worker’s fiancé, the other woman, the one people whisper about and stay away from. Only for Summer, things aren't always as they appear and she knows that better than anyone. She hasn’t been herself since she was in high school, when life was less complicated and relationships weren’t about making compromises to land the guy. When her heart is broken, there's only one thing left for her to do … prove she isn't who everyone thinks she is. And maybe, just maybe, she can get back to being comfortable in her own skin again, without input from a man. But when she encounters Hot Guy, Dean Michaels, everything Summer has ever known about the opposite sex is about to change.

Dean Michaels knew he’d seen her somewhere before. What he never imagined was that the gorgeous woman in a baseball cap and hooded sweatshirt tossing back a beer in his favorite spot could be Summer McGallian—the woman who always looked like she’d stepped off the pages of a glamour magazine when he’d seen her from afar at work. And to make matters worse, she’s Chase Marino’s ex, the one guy who gets under his skin like no other. If the thought of being someone’s bitch in jail wasn’t enough to scare him, he would’ve strangled that bastard years ago and tossed the body in the Mojave Desert. But forget about Chase … Dean knew from the moment he saw Summer’s sexy smile and heard her cute laugh, she had to be his. And he won't let anything get in the way of that."

Interview with a character + GIVEAWAY: Amazon Gift Card from Leila DeSint (author of Confessions Collection)

Hello fellow kinksters,

I'm honored today to present to you a special treat. I am delighted to welcome Rhys Stowell, a character from the amazing Confessions Collection Vol 1. by Leila DeSint, to our blog today.

After the day the wonderful Ms. Leila offered me a copy of her book and I read it, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I can assure you it's like something you have never read before.

You can find my review of it HERE . I recommend you read it if you aren't familiar with the book or just who exactly is Rhys.

The inteview

Ms. Leila:Thank you Iva for your wonderfully insightful review of Confessions Collection Vol. 1 (London Brown) and requesting Rhys as your guest. I now hand you over to him. Good Luck.

Rhys: Hello Iva,

I must admit that when Ms. DeSint emailed me indicating that you'd like to interview me, I wonder what in the world would you want to ask me. Piece by piece I've been asked to bare my soul not solely to Desniah but the world. Yet, there is more you desire to learn.

You might be aware that I like to control situation…so I emailed Ms. DeSint to ask if you'd be willing to answer questions I asked you in exchange for my responses.

Iva: Hello Rhys, thank you very much for agreeing to the interview. What can I say, you intrigued me, even more than London and Desniah and I can’t wait for Confessions Collection Vol. 2 to hear more from you. Wait, wait… An exchange with questions? Oh, I know first-hand how you like to control. I see you’re using that on me too.
Rhys: I prefer to call this a mutual agreement of terms.

Iva: Hmm, I must say this interview just got better. So here we go into a dialogue… First I want you to know that I support you 100% with your fight for a successful relationship with Desniah.
Rhys: That's very kind of you. I've pushed back concerns of being worried she's with me for the wrong reasons. From my perspective, no other outcome is acceptable.

Do you think some women find the thought of possibly taming someone so dark, unpredictable and reckless exciting? Why?

Iva: This sounds a little like that classic ‘why women love bad boys’ question, Rhys. Women may want to change them and ‘save them from themselves’ and yes, some women do find something potentially even dangerous like that exciting. Why? Partly, because it’s different from their every-day life, different from the usual guys that look like spoiled boys. Most simply, it’s a challenge too.
Rhys: Do you think they know in their hearts that they can never conquer only be subjugated? Meaning that at some point, they are the one that bends to the will of the other not the other way around?

Iva: Well maybe, but I don’t think it’s like that at all. Women who look for a special guy, even a guy like that, in the end just want to feel different from the other women, not change them.
With you Rhys, it’s not simple. You’re not just a bad boy with a past. Definitely not for Desniah. I see your problem and I believe she needs you as much as you need her.

Rhys: Very insightful of you. I'm glad we both agree that I'm not a bad boy. I have unique, shall I say very particular needs.

Iva: But I wonder, how did you two meet?

Rhys: I'm not sure if you're aware but Caden, Desniah and I all attended the same private school. Our families are all heavily involved in politics but in different corners of the spectra. Actually the Carringtons are closer in leanings to the Stowells than the Williams. But money, power and titles tend to share acquaintances.

Back to the three of us going to the same school, I skipped a grade. I might have advanced several, but my parents refused because they worried about my social development. You can see how well that turned out.

Everyone at our school knew of Caden and Desniah, the inseparable duo. They were whispered about. I bet you’re burning with the why? A number of underlining hiccups shall we call them were that Carringtons' are conservatives, she was adopted and that one day she'll want to find a man with a similar background to hers. Yes, they were implying ethnicity.

I was in the fourth grade, the first time I truly saw her. I was at the far end of the school yard reading. Most of the other kids left me alone. I was on a bench. On an oddly bright sunny day, the city of London isn't known for them.

Caden was chasing Desniah down by the area where I sat. She was fast. Finally he caught up to her, brought her down to the ground and said, "I've got you."

Sun beamed on her face. The most brilliant smiled lit her entire expression, especially her eyes. She giggled, infectiously, laughing. She glanced my way. Our gazes locked, hers shone with acceptance and the corners of her mouth curled up.

My heart thumped awkward and somehow light. Something inside me sparked and I wanted her in that very way for myself.

Iva: Oh Rhys, that’s a wonderful story! You should tell Desniah about it, I’m sure she’ll love it.

Rhys: I will when the time is right.

Iva: So what attracted you most about her?

Rhys: Her smile and then later her strength. Don't misunderstand me, Desniah Simcoe Williams is an attractive and intelligent woman but those two things did me in.

Iva: Are you now finally satisfied after she finally accepted you? Actually, do you think she truly accepted you yet?

Rhys: A two part question, I see.
Desniah and I have come a long way in a short period of time. I believe she feels that she's accepted those things she knows of me. I know we have some difficult truths to face ahead of us in regards to the monster within me. I'm prepared to deal with her reaction to them.

Iva: Do you think that Desniah will manage to fight off London?

Rhys: Even though Desniah currently believes it is about suppressing London, I don't think that it is simply a matter of fighting her. London is part of Desniah. If Desniah decides to stake claim to her own life and face the pain that forced her to create London she may be able to find peace. But at some point there will be truths she's not ready to come to grips with and that opens the window for London to take over. So I guess what I'm saying is, it will be a long time before we see the last of London unfortunately. But I'm in for the long haul.

Iva: I'm seeing a disaster ahead with her and Caden. Especially Caden.

Rhys: For purely selfish reasons I hope you're wrong. Though, the realist within me is preparing for the possibility of destroying every last Carrington if needed.

Iva: Do you feel threatened by Desniah's past with Caden?

Rhys: Threatened? No. But I don't think I can ignore the fact that he is actively pursuing the woman I love despite knowing that she and I are involved in a physically intimate fashion.

Iva: Are you scared that one day she'll grow afraid and run?

Rhys: Scared? No. I expect that she will become overwhelmed and run. That may take the form of London taking over or her physical departure from my vicinity.

Iva: What would you do then?
Rhys: You'll get your answer in Confessions Collections Vol. 2.

Iva:You’re making me feel a little scared over here, Rhys. Vol.2 better come soon. I hope. Okay, enough with the heavy stuff. Since I am a woman, I'm dying to ask: What gets you off the best?

Rhys: I'm still figuring that out and enjoying every second of how Desniah and I come together. I do particularly relish both on a mental and physical level watching Desniah's every reaction to me being inside her.

Since I am a man, I'm intrigued by why you'd ask this question. If I weren't otherwise attached to someone would you offer to help me discover 'what gets me off the best'?

Iva: Excuse my enthusiasm, but YES! Well, the submissive in me definitely wants that but I admit that your wants sometimes go beyond the things I’m willing to try, Rhys. But honestly, if you were someone that I loved, or at least trusted, I wouldn’t mind experimenting.

Rhys: What gets you off the best on a physical level? And on a mental level?

Iva: Oh the physical level, I’ll go with some light bondage and pure male domination, but without a lot of degradation. Foreplay and eye contact is also very important to me. Seeing the passion of a man’s face always gets me off.

I know you two started with some breath play.

Rhys: I read in your review that you found the concept of breathplay "exciting but I don't like it". Is it the breathplay you don't like? Or is it that you find it exciting that makes you uncomfortable?

Iva: I don’t like the breathplay. I never tried it really, but I don’t think I could enjoy that. To be honest, I have a small breathing problem and that probably affects my judgment. It doesn’t make me uncomfortable at all that I find it exciting. I understand how some people could find it enjoyable.
But there are a lot of toys in that house of yours. What's the next thing you want to try with Desniah?

Rhys: I'm aching to use even just one of my three paddles on her. The thought alone thrills me. I intend to savour each new experience we share fully before we explore the next though. As I am trying to slow the escalation process and control my other needs. Is there something you'd like to recommend?

Iva: Oh I trust you to decide that, Rhys. You’ve done a great job so far and besides – I love it when a man, who knows me well of course, surprises me with something new.

We haven't got any more information about your day-to-day life. Do you have any hobbies?

Rhys: This is one of those questions I feel you find in a dating questionnaire. Where I should say, I enjoy long walks along the beach and making love in the rain. And I'm sure I would find great pleasure in both but my version of them would be darker.

Iva: Yes, I know. But hobbies and preferences tell an awful lot about a man! You can’t deny that.

Rhys: You'll find, Iva that I deny very little and admit to approximately the same amount.

You mean aside from investigating other people's crimes, researching BDSM techniques, collecting play instruments, and self-diagnosing my condition based on research I do on the web? I box at gym a few times a week still for the physical release.

Reading is another love of mine; I gravitate toward literature and non-fiction. A few months ago, I decided to take up the task of reading all the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates in Literature. Recently I completed The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. In particular I'm fond of his lean, uncluttered narrative style. I'm about to start The Bridge on the Drina by Ivo Andric.

Iva: An author from my country, Rhys? Hmm. I do hope you enjoy it.

Rhys: The region is of particular interest to me. The reason is forthcoming.

Another activity, I find enjoyable is drawing buildings or the human form using charcoal. Is there a spot you can think of that I might find architecturally interesting that you'd suggest? Or would you model for me so that I may draw you?

Iva: First I must say that I always love discovering how artists reflect how they see the world in their art and finding that deep meaning of a certain piece. So I don’t know in what way buildings interest you, but I find the contrast of dark and light, or darkness and color, a very powerful subject. Buildings and corners are a good way to express that.

Rhys: Indeed, they are. If you are well behaved, I might one day tell you what entices me to them.

Iva: Well yes, I’d rather model for you. I admit I always had a fantasy starting like that. If Desniah doesn’t mind I’d like to take you up for that offer!
Rhys: You willingly volunteer, though you admit that "my wants sometimes go beyond the things you're willing to try". You've spoken of the submissive in you but I suspect there is also a boisterous and cheeky aspect to you. I look forward to our sessions and what I will discover about you during.

Thank you, Iva for engaging in this dialogue with me. Given the unorthodox nature of this interview, I'm grateful for your open and honest responses to my questions.

Kind regard,

R. Stowell

Iva: Thank you, Rhys. I hope we'll get a chance to talk more in the future!
